problems with TheBladeShop ?

I filed with my CC company for a $707 refund yesterday. Hopefully they can get my and their money back somehow.

Shucks. I have just lost faith in the system. When you do an internet search on these crooks it turns out that they actually have three rip off companies that all have the same method of operation. One post on a gun forum suggests the stolen money is sent overseas to Australia where the scam originates. It suggests that anyone who has purchased from them may have more to worry about the just lost money like for example identity theft.

I received this E-mail from Benchmade today.

Our 630 skirmish is discontinued and out of stock. So unless they ( The Blade Shop ) are getting more out of the back of a truck somewhere, they will not be getting any at all. I can not however recommend a good online source to purchase our knives. The best way to locate a legitimate discontinued knife is through one of our dealers (We do not sell to web based dealers) some of our dealers do have websites however. I would suggest going to an authorized dealer in your area to see if they have any left in stock, or going to our forums at http://www.benchmadeforum.com/ and seeing if any one on there is willing to sell a 630 to you. I hope this answered your questions. If you have any more questions or concerns please reply.

Thank you,
Katie Hoen

We haven't received our shipment from Benchmade just yet (they send shipments about every 1-2 weeks). We will be getting a shipment in sometime this week. Once we receive the item, it will ship directly to you and we will send you an email to confirm that. I apologize for the delay, but we do appreciate your business and patience.

Thank You,

(MY RESPONSE TO THE E-MAIL FROM BLADE SHOP BELOW)

Since Benchmade says they are out of stock I don't know where you are going to get my knife from. So with that being said I would like to kindly ask you to refund the full amount that was charged to my credit card. Order number *****. I think I have been more than patient, it has been two weeks since I placed the order. Not to mention you have been less than honest with me. So again I will kindly ask you to refund my money and we can all put an end to this. Thank you.

WOW! I wonder if you can expect a reply from thebladeshop.... EVER. talk about being caught in a lie.

Interesting. My credit card had over $3000 in unauthorized charges since placing my order with The Blade Shop.... :grumpy:

These "people" give a black eye to all the honest companies out there that sell over the internet. Why don't you direct them to this forum when you send them your next email. I am sure the pile of garbage coward wimp who is running this scam wouldn't dare address us. I hope he and all his crooked employes get their just deserves and all wind up charged as accessories. From what I understand the day is close at hand.

Eddie from The Blade Shop has actually made quite a few posts on this forum addressing the problems with his company. He has made claims that the company is doing its best to correct all the problems. These claims are obviously BS, since things don't seem to have improved.

Anyone who cares to scroll back through this thread will see I've been here before.....and burned by The Blade Shop before. Well....... it happened again.......

I placed an order with TacticalGunArmory.com for a scoped rifle case, a Fobus holster for a P-229, and a Leupold rifle scope. They replied relatively quickly that they had charged my credit card for the entire order but the rifle case was on backorder and would take 2-3 weeks. I could call them to change the order. This was February 28.

I tried calling them but got a busy signal almost every time. When I finally did get through, I held for almost 15 minutes before hanging up. I emailed them and asked them to cancel the rifle case. No reply. I emailed again. No reply. After several days, I sent a threatening email. I got a short reply saying they would cancel the rifle case and "proceed accordingly".

Several unreturned emails, attempted phone calls, and weeks later, I called my credit card company and asked them to cancel payment. They said it was too late - the card had already been charged. They searched the phone numbers for tacticalgunarmory and told me I had the wrong company - that number belonged to The Blade Shop!!!!!!!!!.

I called the bank that issued the credit card and they mailed out some affidavit paperwork that I needed to fill out to start my claim. Now, 2 months later, I received my scope and holster. My card has still been charged for the entire amount of the order. No apologies, no returned emails, no phone call.

The Blade Shop is at it again, boys!!!! At least they're consistent!

Sorry to hear of this stretch. I've learned 3 things dealing on-line: 1) I call before ordering from anyone new to me. If they don't answer the phone, I don't order. 2) If their price is a lot better than most, there's a reason. If it's too good to be true, it is. 3) Google their name. No hits other than their site link, add the word "problems" to the end and google again.

Just googling tacticalgunarmory revealed a rip-off report in the number 2 slot.

They do deserve the Hall of Shame, or at least a sticky.

...I guess the INTERNET is the next new frontier, and these guys are a gang of train robbers.

I must disagree, crooks like these are the exception. What I don't understand is how they manage to still be in business with this kind of reputation...
I don't expect law-enforcement agencies to do anything about it (after all it took them 30 years to realize Bernie Madoff was a fraud), but word of mouth and forums like this should scare potential buyers away.
It would be nice if Google search included warnings about e-tailers with high credit card dispute rates.

I was on Amazom.com and came accross "Blade Shop". Is "Blade Shop" and "The Blade Shop" one in the same? At Amazon they have an outstanding feedback, something like 96%. Can't be the same company, can it?

That's funny: a month ago I ordered a Spyderco on Amazon from a store called U.S. Cutlery, but when I saw my order confirmation, it said The Knife Store. I almost fainted because The Knife Store was the same kind of crooked outfit and it went down a few years ago...
Is Amazon coming to the rescue of failed businesses owned by thieves? I hope not...
