Proof of the pudding, photo of a BG-42 301

What, if they can be calculated now, are the final production numbers of the three variations of this cool 301?

Three Versions:

1. No printing on scale:
2. Printing on scale:
3. Printing on backside of knife:

And, what is left unsold of each variant at the moment?

I will have to get that info from John or Larry, I can say only about 2 dz of the 'mistake' knives were made. The order was suppose to be 100/100. 300

OK, The BCCI was selling them to anyone walking by at the Blade Show because we had so many left after offering to BCCI members.
I will repeat and I know some of you know this but these are payment due when received from Buck or in other words they are a hole in the BCCI pocket.

So, I am certain the "after-market" knives came from Blade Show attending people that make a partial living doing such things.

At the end of last week there were still some left. I know some of you BCCI guys make a little side money selling aftermarket, it appears that these "pocket tools" are not BCCI 'hot'. So if you want to buy a half dozen and sell them be my guest. Get in the upper $100s and it will make mine more valuable.

And finally, whoever has not received their's yet, I hope it is in mail. BUT, we were to received these in two batches ( think Custom made), at the time of the Blade Show only batch one had come in. I can assure John will bust his tail getting these out to the late ordering folks from the second shipping. Always remember my father's saying.....You snooze you lose......300

I used to get really annoyed when I saw the new BCCI knives being sold on the open market to non-members for profit. My thoughts were if someone was so greedy they would sell a knife that was made for BCCI members only the minute they were issued, the seller should be banded from buying any more BCCI knives. Again my thoughts were keep these knives in BCCI storage for future members who may want the old member offerings. I now realize this puts a huge strain on the club finances, I don't agree with the club making direct sales to non-members even at shows (a new e-membership is only $10, if they want the knife make them at least join the club). Now I hear these knives were to come in two shipments? So I may not get the knife I pre-paid for when a possible non-member has one for sale on the open market while I may have to wait until a future date for mine to be shipped? To me that is all wrong! I do understand the clubs financial position and need to sell the current knives in inventory though.

Is this 301 Stockman the very best Stockman from any maker, with man-made handle inlays, ever in the entire lengthy history of the Stockman model? If not then what Stockman puts this BCCI model into the backseat?

I printed the order form today and want to place an order. Please tell me I'm not too late.

Signed,
Procrastinator.

TnA, I don't have one, but it is the same as the ones with the lasering on the front , only on the back.

Casey, Don't delay, hey, what I would do is go up to the BCCI sticky on this forums home page and find John Foresman's name and use that to send him a email or private message to reserve you one as you are sending in order. You can swear on stack of Buck knives if you want ......300

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves Chris! I still need to get my 301 first. I'll have to go fishing in the bay I guess lol.

I'd be interested in a 303 though :D

The BCCI verbiage is carved and inked into the Micarta. The blade data is not stamped.

Excellent photos, Oregon!

Thank you Brianv. The camera loves this extraordinary folder. Super steel strength and edge longevity with look and feel of ivory without deceased elephants. The best Stockman of all time perhaps.

What great knives! Thanks to all involved for bringing these to us.

Pictured below are one of each version (Sorry for the bad photography. Oregon, help!). So grateful for the opportunity to own them, especially the right side etch.
