I really like the bunny pattern, but my budget is shot for the year. I might be convinced to join in if it were offered with linen micarta scales of just about any color. Cocobolo would be my second choice (although I like ebony more, the chance of getting a truly black ebony handle seems remote these days).

Interesting, read post #1. 😃

Scariest bunnies I ever saw were at Yorkshire Sculpture Park! What kind of sick mind comes up with this stuff?! o_O

I don't see why people need to be sarcastic and snide towards a respected long-term contributor like L lambertiana ? He was merely stating his personal situation and he used the key word IF. Since we have all contributed to this thread and also added humorous pictures/ideas it has bulked up considerably. Post 1 does not state exactly what the scales will be but black as it is obviously a work-in-progress. Eventually Charlie and GEC will say what the material will be, speculating is hardly a crime.

......... yes two different times..... 300+ bunnies in an afternoon was .22LR, these days my most commonly used "Bunny Gun" :D has been a .375H&H..... at somewhere around $5 a round with handloads (maybe more as the Woodleighs are $3.40 each before powder and primer).
but at least you don't have to use a "finishing shot"......

I went out in the front yard to get the mail, late the other evening, and there were three cottontails grazing in my yard. We usually see them one at a time, randomly about the neighborhood, but there seem to be more of them this year... probably in anticipation of our bunny knife...

When I was a late teenager, we used to go rabbit shooting on a ranch my dad used to own. Jackrabbits were the big target... one year there apparently was a bumper crop of them, and we had a field day... we got to where we were imposing restrictions "nothing but head shots"... that kind of thing. I don't know how many we culled that weekend, but it was a bunch. Probably not over 340, but it was a lot. Didn't seem to make a dent in the population of them.... .22 LR was the approved harvesting tool...

but I digress... I wonder when the sign up will happen?

cudgee cudgee ..big long rabbit ears?
Will Power Will Power ...researchers from the Porchenberg Hall of County records recently came upon a document from the original
Ye Olde Carta de Portchingburh.
Scribed in the year 1607 by Charles The Bearded One himself and notably witnessed by Matthew Mepkin ,Spekulatter Findder Annoyante.
It states :
"Himme whitche spekkleatte be ovve nay goodde brayn and thusly givven t' ye towne narwhalle.....(large tract of parchment burnt)...forre tis' a crimme."

So there you have it..

Some years ago, settling Australians thought introducing rabbits to their environment would be a good idea, providing a ready source of food in an ideal climate. Too good an idea as it turns out; they, the rabbits, quickly over-ran the country!!!
But it did provide a great opportunity for the cutlery industry!!View attachment 1863518View attachment 1863520View attachment 1863521
In chatting them up with GEC over the last few years, Bill has come around with a proposal for us, for a 2022 Bladeforums knife!!
Most of the ones I have seen were 2-blades, with a clip and a pen being the most sought after versions. They also had matte black synthetic handles!!
Here is GEC's offering!!View attachment 1863523A traditional pattern for which I am looking into a new, improved qualification and distribution system!!

I wasn't going to get involved in another BF knife, but It has fallen into my lap!!
Please leave me some simple feedback, and we'll see if this works!!

Last years knife actually worked pretty well, with a small percentage of cheaters and flippers making outsized trouble for us, so I am working on a better system - to be continued!!
Is the Bunny knife just a Hare bigger than a Rabbit knife ?
