Proto Pics Of The BussMuk . . . !!!!!!

What do you seek? ([tim]"The Holy Grail?"[/tim])

No, really. I've been doing a lot of thinking about this. I am not sure I see purpose of a small INFI blade. There is only so much chopping you can accomplish with a MrS. Even Jerry said that, for certain tasks, something like the D2 Dog Skinner was better suited for its tasks than an equivalent INFI knife. I am on the verge of doing something drastic that reflects this train of thought and purging all my sub-4.5" blades (with one exception). The BA3 has become my benchmark for minimum desirability.

TEASE!!!!

PM sent. :p

Well, I kept asking for an Anorexic Game Warden, but the Cultellus is pretty nice, so that will do. ( of course, I would still buy a skinny GW :p ) And I would like one of those flat ground Knob Creek SFNOs, but not at the crazy prices being charged now. :thumbdn:

hmm, I'm trying to remember if you have a LrMrS. :D

Seeing this compared to the mini... I just might have to have both and have Okuden make the sheaths mated together... Ummmmmm, it's Ness-muk goodness!!!!

Did we ever see specs on the big one?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Ummmm.... DC with Black G-10.... Or Mag black Canvas... Oh please hurry, I even have MONEY RIGHT NOW!!!

The design of the these 2 Busse Muks were derived from taking the blade design off of Nessmuk's drawing and sticking an Active Duty handle on it!!!. . . .

But this is not the last of the protos that you will see my friends. . . We are making another one as we speak! It will be the more robust "HogMuk" design and will feature a newly designed handle!!!

We will be offering the "MiniMuk" and the "HogMuk" together. . . .

The "HogMuk" profile is much closer to the original's spirit of design but with added pork . . .

Here are some preliminary specs. . . (These might change. . . )

Blade Length: . . . . . 4 1/2"

Overall Length: . . . . 9 1/2"

Blade Thickness: . . . Approx. 3/16"

Handle: . . . The new "DCH" (Day Camper/Hunter) with Flying "V" pattern.

Stay tuned!

Jerry :D

COOL. Can't wait to see the HOG version. Can we have the Bussemuk offered with a a Busse axe or a Busse RUCK?

I wonder if this new "DCH" handle is somewhere along the lines of a enlarged game warden handle?

The small one's are my favorite....do you think Busse should only make choppers, or switch to D2 on the small ones?

Personally, I like all my Busse's in INFI

Good luck with your selloff:thumbup:

Now that's what I'm talking about, right there. That's a stroke of genius, using Nessmuk's drawing for the design. Can't wait to see the new handle, and for these to hit the site!:thumbup:

The direction this thread has taken makes me laugh. When Jerry gives us a big choil, we gripe. When he eliminates it, we moan. What a bunch a whiny brats we are.

I vote for the original choil (with a GW handle, of course => my peeve). If you want a larger one, get Ban or Ducci to grind it in for you.

On this particular offering, IMHO because the boss asked us about a bushcraft design, everyone is still in the offering a suggestion mode. It will iron out with another awesome knife. Way to go Boss  Just my .02 worth :p

Jerry,

It would be very nice if the mini-muk has a blade which starts as close to the handle as possible for woodcraft purposes. DWRW's design looks to be perfect for the Mini. In my opinion, the larger muks would be fine with the choils as designed on the Muk proto, as they would see more varied use. Good work.

Now thats the one for me, a perfect woodsman knife!

Bring it Boss man!

Jerry you keep making this deal sweeter and sweeterer!

Exactly! For small knives, choils, even the smallest ones, really, really, honest to God are nothing but a hindrance to performance (although they do make sharpening a bit easier, but how hard is sharpening in the first place?). Take a look at puukkos - don't see many choils on them, do you. There's a reason for it, too. :)

Now, large knives, blade heavy and 6" up, may actually benefit from one.

Would be very cool to see an INFI Scandi-ish blade, 4" of blade perhaps, full flat grind or even Scandi grind, no choil of any kind, preferably no guard or a minimal one, and a Game Warden style handle. I'd buy two.
