Protourist!

Hi Mack -

It is making me smile too!

I weighed the knife - 11.3 ounces, and the balance point is right at the K mark! Nice balance!

I like a knife with the arcing center line, as this design trait moves the blade to the work while my wrist is in a natural position. Good stuff - the more I play with it, the more I appreciate the design.

Isn't it amazing how something as simple as changing the handle angle can make such a huge difference? Cutting with my wrist in a natural position makes a world of difference to me.

Great pics & review Andy!
Congrats Mack,I bet you're really jonesin' to get your mitts on it now.

You ain't kidding. I got a message yesterday from Melvin-Purvis that he wants his chance to try it out. I will add him to the end of the list and then I want it for my own.:D

Hi guys -

I did the turkey a little earlier and used Mack's knife to carve the bird.

The knife worked great, it really is good for cutting the joints - the leg joints on the 13lb bird presented no problem at all for the big JK

As you can see above, when things get greasy, the jimping on the spine comes in handy, and they are just in the right spot.

I sliced the meat from the thighs - again - no problem.

Next came the breast - the length and very nice point of the knife lent itself very well to the deep cutting of the breast from the breastbone.

Of course it was no problem to slice up the breast. The turkey was outstanding, by the way....

When I first saw this knife I didn't get it ! After looking at the other pics I now get it and understand the design/thought behind it, great design buddy and awesome work as always John !

I also plan on offering this model with a 4 1/2" - 5" blade, and a slightly shorter handle.

Thanks Pit. I think it will do a lot of things well.

Would you be interested in doing one like that in 1/16? I have been thinking that that would be a fantastic fillet knife.

that sounds similar to a Schrade sharpfinger without the thumb ramp -- should do well.
A JK Improved Sharpfinger. I like it.

Don't suppose anyone owns a pirate ship and has a bunch of friends willing to reenact a boarding do they? I'm digging the idea this as a cutlass.

That really could be a lot of fun you know.

Hi guys -
