Hi Mack -

Should have been delivered yesterday.

best regards -

knife arrived yesterday - sorry I didn't post that up here.
no venison - yet - hoping for some luck Thursday evening, Friday or Saturday.
If none of that, it'll get some use chopping up cabbage, onions, maybe a pork roast -- and maybe shaving some fuzz sticks to build the fire for cooking it on.
The only improvement I can think so far of would be to break the sharp edge in front of the scales - the corners are almost sharp enough to cause pressure cuts if pushing hard.

Hi Erik -

Glad it made it to you.

Ironically - the day I shipped it off to you, my next door neighbor came home with a big buck. He cleaned it with a "dollar store" folding knife - the kind that has a blade, as saw and a "guthook" blade.

I told him next time let me know and I'll let him use one of my JK's.

Good luck - I hope you are able to get you a deer soon!

best regards -

I'm glad to hear that it made it. Too bad about Bambi.
Interesting about the sharp edge. Is it something that can be easily smoothed?

Hi Mack -

I know what he is talking about - the handle on this knife was long enough I never got into that issue - but I have rounded those edges off of some of my other JK's using a diamond sharpening stick.

yup - It would only take 30 seconds with a piece of 400 grit emory cloth to knock the "sharp" off those edges if you want me to.

Go for it.

Cool, I hope you're giving it a workout.

Did Bambi make an appearance today?

alas, no -- full moon and clear skies.
none were moving yesterday, either. (everyone I talked to had the same problem)
one last try in the morning, then it's a stop at the grocery for a roast or some pork chops to bone out.

Sounds like most of my deer hunting experiences. Sorry to hear that.

not worried about it - yesterday afternoon I was planted under a huge mulberry that blocked the breeze - it was so peaceful I dozed off a bit and probably missed the 300 pound monster buck that hangs around the neighborhood wandering past.
OTOH, I got to spend some time watching a redtail hunting the back pasture which was kind of fun.
If I can pot me a fat doe, I'll be very happy and have a well stocked freezer.
If not, there's the "second chance" season in January.

Great attitude. I can sit and watch birds of prey all day and never tire of it.
Good luck tomorrow.

well, no luck and the season is now over until January, so I will get some pictures of food prep, fuzz sticks, etc... and write up a review.
Knife will go out in the mail Wednesday, so I need a mailing address for the next contestant.
Thanks again for the chance Mack!

I hope the knife worked out better than Bambi did. I believe that KYenglish is next up.
