Thanks Kalama. I think it will do nicely on hogs.

Hi guys -

This thing was great on the tenderloin roll!

I have a lot of experience on these, and I have used a lot of different knives on them.

I really liked the knife for this task - this is as close to skinning as I will get to use this knife for at this time, and it performed perfectly.

The sharp tip of the blade provided the tool to incise and get under the silver skin, and the nicely sized handle gives you grip and control for doing cutting tasks when there is blood and fatty grease in play.

Of course it cut the steaks out like a laser!

I will write up a proper review and post elsewhere - Thank you so much for the honor of being first to put this through it's paces.

Let me know who is next and I'll touch up the edge and get it shipped out!

Thanks for all of the great pics and for putting it through it's paces.
It should go to 1066vik next.

BTW, those steaks look fantastic. I wish I was in Illinois right now.:D

See there John, I knew that Ebony would make a great looking handle! That is an absolutely beautiful knife right there, and I really like the way that Ebony looks on it! That wood costs a bit but, I bet it will wear like stone! Really good job as uausl! I have lost track of who the knife actually belongs too but, it really looks like it can do the job with as much food as it has already cut up! Good luck with it! You surely won't see too many of those around I'll betcha!

Hi Tom -

The knife belongs to "Mack" - Protourist.

Mack designed and commissioned the knife. Mack then scheduled a passaround with his new knife so that some of us very lucky JK fans could get our hands on the knife.

I think it was really just an insidious way to get other people to buy a knife from John of the Protourist design. :^)

best regards -

You are a wise and insightful young man Andy.;)

Thanks Frontiertom. You are absolutely right about the ebony. I am addicted to it now. One problem with it is the fact that cameras somehow don't pick up the beauty of it. It is so much nicer in person.

Hi guys -

It is with heavy heart that I report that I sent the knife on to Erik (1066vik ).

I really liked having this one around the house this week - thank you, driver, for letting me play with it.

Erik - have fun with it and I look forward to your thoughts on the knife. According to the lady at the post office, you will have it on Monday.

best regards -

Thank you Andy for all of the great pics.
Erik, I hope it works well for you.

me, too -- if the bambi are moving tomorrow, the timing could be perfect!
(had thunderstorms all day today, nothing moving out there but the other hunters...)

Looks like it will be a good day today. Good luck to ya.

I honestly hope that everyone that tries this knife cusses me when they start cutting with it. I know that when I first tried a knife with a similar handle angle I cussed every other knife I had used wondering why they aren't all made like this.

weather was gorgeous -- bambi was not moving.
but at least i had some time outside with no one talking at me. :)

All in all that sounds like a great day.

That knife looks right at home in the kitchen. Nice job on a very practical design Mack! Awesome photos as always Andy, I'm salivating as I type this.

Thanks Jeff. Andy sure knows how to take a picture that'll make a guy hungry doesn't he?
Hopefully it's in Kansas cutting up some venison as we speak.:D
