Prune Big, or Go Home!

:D That is pretty different. Maybe for picking grape seeds out of your teeth in the vinyards???
I don't know how I missed that thread.
Best regards

Robin

Charlie judging by the proportions that pruner of yours is a monster.

Here are my Pruners.

Three Saynor's and a Joseph Rodgers with chequered bone.

The top one in this group is made by IXL George Wostenholm Sheffield. The second has Greenwich Inlaid stamped on the blade and is made by J Nowill & Sons Sheffield. The third is made by Humphreys Radiant Sheffield. The last is made by Geo.Hall & Son.

You guy are bring a new meaning to "go big or go home"!!
Pretty cool stuff!
And I thought that Schatt & Morgan sailors knife was big!

Thank you Dave, your TC barlow collection is very impressive also.

This next one was found in New Zealand and was made by Ibbotson in Sheffield with the Violin trademark.

Cheers Gordon.

Whoaaaa...

Ok..Lyle wins!!

That just absolutely amazing Lyle!

I must have a look through my photos Charlie, I am sure I have some of my older Pruners - NOTHING...like that New York Knife Co. example - thats a honey, and Robin my friend - I too would have been trying to get my paws on that knife believe me!

Good grief! That is vast! What a treasure

Lyle, wasn't that big thing used by Babe Ruth to hit 60 home runs or something? Mamma Mia! I agree, that knife takes the "Prune Big" trophy!

Nice collection, Gordon! The texture on your Joseph Rodgers is called "scratting", so it has "scratted" bone handles. JR made the best knives IMO!

I was over on the lumberjack's forum the other day and noticed a guy named Paul Bunyan asking if anyone has seen his pruner anywhere.

The knife with the Clippers - you say that was found in New Zealand? If you don't mind me asking where did you pick that up- especially being the big "I" brand (Stan Shaw's old stomping ground )

amazing pieces in this thread!! I'm wondering what kind of python-arms you need to use some of these... when they said 'pruning' i didn't think it meant through the trunk.... lol!

Keen Kutter......

Jonathan Crookes.......

Again, sorry for the terrible photo...4 line Camillus Lovely knife..

Finished off with some Great Stag Workers!

Forgive me Charlie for the old photos of these knives.

Gordon, that is a very old Rope knife - in exceptional condition - it shouldnt really be in here but it was in the photo of the other two that are related to Charlies original theme to this thread.

Back to my question about the clippers..... are you based in New Zealand? I am interested out of pure curiosity where you picked up that Ibberson in New Zealand, I never see much of Ibberson here - and always search because of Stan Shaw.

Duncan I thought it was a Rope knife, I love that blade shape it really appeals to me.

I tried to send you a PM last night about the pruner but it doesn't seem to be working. Could you send me your email address to contact you.

Cheers Gordon.

Gordon
Thanks for sharing your knives!! The Humphreys Radiant Sheffield really got my attention!!

Duncan
