Prune Big, or Go Home!

Finished off with some Great Stag Workers!

WOW Duncan - that old stag knife standing vertical is something else my friend - I love it !! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::)

I declare Lyle the winner of this contest - ain't nobody gonna beat that knife!! :D:D:D:D

I love it when threads wake up from a long nap, especially when it's a nice knife that does the waking!
A nice Joseph Rodgers does the job very well!
Great pruner, 1500!

1500
As Charlie said-nice Hawkbill - in fact thats a little bit of a rarer pin pattern - usually they are 3 or 4 pinned, havent seen too many 5 pinned? I would put big money on it being original scales - even though the pins are a wee bit untidy - thats nothing uncommon for these earlier Sheffields.
Great knife man...was working on returning your e-mail - do you think I could find it now - cant even find iot in Deleted items ( not that I would delete it)

Ya gotta love working knives and Old stag. Great to see this thread again.

Best regards

Robin

Last weekend, a friend paid me a debt with an old Thomas Turner Pruning knife. Nice stag, square and clean joint and thunderous snap all add to its attraction. Well paid!

The deep etch probably said "Encore".

I am ever grateful for the half-stop. This knife is like a semi-tame crocodile!
Back! Back!!:eek::eek:

:D:D

Beautiful knives everyone. Awesome stag shown.

Charlie. Yes Encore. Similar to the knife on the far right in this early 1900 catalogue.

My knife similar to the jack knife on the far left.

Looks like our knives are from a similar era, Steve - thanks for posting the catalogue page! Nice Jack - the Stag Turner had access to was great stuff.

Nice TEW Jack!

There are so many subtle things that make a big, old Stag pruner a satisfying find!!

Thanks Charlie, apologies for the poor pics :)
