My only pruner, a H & JW King dated 1869, recently rescued from a dusty antique shop here in northeast Ohio.

J Howarth Sheffield. Not sure that the lanyard hole is original.

Nice Howarth, s-k. Gnarly stag!
Do the lanyard holes go through, or are they just in the stag?

Too bad about the corrosion, but that knife still holds its head up, Dan!!

I like the blade shape on your King knife Dan. The scales are interesting... cocobolo wood perhaps?

Thanks for your comments Jack and Charlie.

Charlie, The hole is all the way through the knife.

Thanks for answering my question, s-k.

That Gimel is a beauty. Nice horn handles and overall condition, and their blade mark really adds to the package! The stuff of collectors' dreams!!

Great addition's to a great thread guy's. Here's my old OVB, I'm not sure if the 2 notches were on purpose or not. This knife walks and talks like new it's quiet amazing really.

Thanks for your comments Jack and Charlie. jwolf I like the ebony scales on your knife.

I Thought this old post card circa early 1900s would be appropriate here.

Thanks SK wouldn't you know I like the covers on your pruner as well. Very nice one you have there.

Zounds! Look at that knife, will you!!
An impressive piece to take into the New Year, Steve. How long is it?
Can you show us the thickness??

Man I love the old English hawks. I always wanted to post these and finally got around to it. The IXL set had the ivory handled knife with it when I got it.

I love this thread!! One of the best titles ever.

Galvanic: what a knife set!! That stag handle is killer! And the variety of attachments is stunning.
