Prune Big, or Go Home!

Monday I got my May Knife Magazine and today I got my April Knife Magazine, so I guess the USPS is acting up. I open the magazine and the first article I come across is "English Pruning Knives" by Neal Punchard and Jack Black. Wait I know that second name from somewhere? Nice article and some good photos too. There is also a nice Tribute article "Stan Shaw (1926-2021: A Tribute" by Geoffrey Tweeddale. John

At 4 1/2" long this I*XL is a good size! It's Seal Cap is considerably larger that a US dollar coin, and it's blade comes with a Lifetime warranty!! (JK! JK!)!
The details say "Old knife"!, with the integral bolsters, flowery blade stamp and visible pivot pin! The handles are likely Cocobola, and they show the wood's kinship with Rosewood!! Tapered to a fat end, the handle is easy to grab and hold.
One can Prune Big with this sucker!! :D

Very old presumably Spanish pruner (no visible stamp, except for a couple of faded letters barely seen in the pic). ).
I have a similar pruner marked "RISORGE" on the blade with what looks like an animal standing over the word. Could it be . . . . . . . . . . .?Risorge A.jpgRisorge B.jpg
The pin placement and type look the same!

They do look like close relatives! If so, it's the first approach to identifying this knife since I've had it. Thank you for the pics!
You are welcome, Gonzalo!!

Also posted in the "Sheffield" thread, this J.Crookes is hard to date! Some "Old Timey" details, but looks unused!! Hammered pins, integral bolsters. 4 1/4" knife.J Crookes 1.jpgJ Crookes 2.jpg

Real nice J Crookes Charlie - Wow!!!!! Just amazing to see totally unused!!!
Thanks Duncan!! The jigging is still crisp and new!!
It would be nice to know how old it is, but like many Sheffield makers, Jonathan Crookes has had a long complex history, and old methods lingered for years (Thank Goodness!! ;) )!!
