i am not sure how many will see this post but, if one of the forum members i previously offended sees it..it has served its purpose.

i want to apologize for my actions over the last few days in corresponding with members here on the forum and in e-mail..i don't know what had gotten in to me..a combination of a few things, i guess...reguardless, it is no excuse!

i made a couple of careless errors and misjudged their severity..because i did not address them properly or early enough they quickly grew into a monster..FOR THAT I AM TRULY SORRY and VOW not to let that happen EVER AGAIN!

i want to apologize to timmer, wolfman601, cougar allen, kwm, wulf, gigone, lewis, michael_aos, nifrand, melvin-purvis, Gus Kalanzis, and darkman...i am sure i have left someone out but in NO WAY does that mean i am not sorry to you as well..I AM.

anyway, i am not looking for any forgiveness nor a pat on the back..i am simply doing what i feel is right..and taking responsibility for MY actions and laying blame where it should go...ME!

if i had asked myself early on simply WWJD..i would not be writing this.
 
I accept your apology, Jerry, and I'm glad to see you made the effort. It's a good start.

Although MY name is not on your list, I WILL accept your apology IF you send a free knife to me.:D.:D.
Seriously...It DOES take a MAN to admit when he was wrong, and you have done that.:).
 
Underdogizhere, it takes a man to swallow hard and apologize publically. I admire this gesture. I, too, have foot-in-mouth disease and I have had to wake up the next morning and eat a whole pile of crow. Your friends will understand.

I'm bipolar, and I surged through a mania last year. It's no excuse, I did it. I rambled and ticked so many folks off it was hard to make a list of people that needed contacting. My shrink told me that when I first came in I jumped from one thought to another so quickly that he couldn't follow the idea.

A man with real values does what it takes to get the right thing done, and you have started the journey. I hope we become friends here.
 
Jerry I think you need to leave Jesus outta this. I think you are still manipulative, deceptful, and pretty much a leaky vessel.
You sure bagged me good and if you'll do that to a guy that goes the extra yard for you butt, well what will you do to some poor unsuspecting forumite. There's just too much smoke for an apology pal. I wish this forum would throw your butt in the hole like the other forum did.
btw I have every email on file on the knife you just had to have so you could "carry it on the mean streets of Charleston". It took you a whole week to sell it. If you wanna be a dealer, say so and step up, but the decepttion won't cut it. I see you.

Being the giving individual that you are you will be taken advantage of sometimes, but don't let that change your nature, keep an eye open for the good things.

NO PERSON IS MARRIED TO A KNIFE when they purchase it..conditions and people's life change...mine has and as a result, your knife was no longer an option for me as an EDC, as i WON'T be in CHARLESTON TO CARRY IT..so, maybe i am not like many..but, i don't have $500-700 additional dollars to throw on another knife so, i had to do what i needed to do to acquire what i could use..

i have sent you a private e-mail addressing some of the things you mentioned above..i think once you read it, you will have a different recollection of what happened..remember, YOU made the first contact and OFFER to me and i will leave it at that..

the intention of this thread is NOT to start another personal attack...but, now I KNOW who was the major push to ban me..but your reason absolutey has no merit..

larryd made the offer to do alot of extras on the knife due to the fact that i sent him the 4 incher to sell to another customer..


please don't make this another personal attack thread, that is not the intention here...if larryd had an issue with me and the selling of the knife..all he had to do was e-mail me..

I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS A REQUIREMENT TO ASK A MAKER IF YOU CAN SELL THEIR KNIFE once YOU PURCHASE IT..
 
Jerry you're completely missing the point and doing the ole switcharoo again.

Yes the 4" DA was involved. You just got it and up it goes for sale.
I saw it and asked if something was wrong with the knife. You said no it was great, you just really wanted a 3-1/2" DA with a 5/32" blade. Now I won't go into all the extras and the green bone scales I cut and then let you change to something else after I had them finished or adding the rear bolsters and the jeweling, anodizing and nuggeting, etc. Turning the knife into a Double Trouble with extras at no cost to you. Only because, by your emails (which by the way I'll be glad to post here if that's permissable or send them privately, I have everyone archived.)all for the sake of giving you something extra because by the tone of you emails this was to be the ding dong daddy for you. I am disappointed more in myself for being so easy. Now I know what I know and there seems to be a body of witnesses around that have testified to the same kind of shananigans. You can sell all the knives you can get from me in the future and you don't have to ask me. You just have to get one first.

there is no point being missed here at all, at least not by me....YOU offered all of the extras you mentioned UPFRONT..if i would send you the 4 incher rather than sell it...That is THE FACTS..i never asked you for ANYTHING that you didn't offer..
additionally, it took you over 2 months to deliver a knife you promised me in a couple weeks max..i never got ONE e-mail from you about the progress of the knife or delay without ME contacting you first to inquire..i never made any demands or never ONCE mentioned that you were WEEKS LATE on the knife delivery..NOT ONE TIME...So, i don't understand the hatred in your writings..

you are a knifemaker and making knives is what you do..i didn't cheat you out of money, or ask you to do anything without compensation...YOU OFFERED ALL OF THE EXTRAS UP FRONT..

EXAMPLE: you special order a corvette convertible to cruise the beaches of miami...you have a sudden change in life plans and move to the mountains of west virginia..you sell the corvette to buy a SUV..do you contact chevrolet and ask permission to sell the corvette? OF COURSE NOT

though an extreme example..the same situation can be applied.

you or i NEVER discssed the future of the knife in question..other that the ORIGINAL knife was sold because of the handle ratio and the blade size..so AGAIN you offered to make me a replacement if you could have my 4 inch back to SELL...i never called you or asked you to take it back and make me something else..

so my question remains:
WHY DOES A BUYER HAVE TO SEEK PERMISSION FROM A MAKER TO SELL A KNIFE THAT HE PURCHASED WITH HIS ON MONEY..especially, when THE ISSUE WAS NEVER DISCUSSED...

Over and above that Larry puts his heart into each and every knife he builds bar none.
I have watched this man pour over situations inherant with new desigs until he has everything just right although a simpler solution would have saved him time and resources but would have yelded just a good knife, not the best knife that he could build.

I have been collecting knives for 7yrs and with a few exceptions all have been a little late on delivery when dealing with customs, that is somthing that by now I thought you would know,plus or minus 4 weeks is pretty good, I have waited alot longer and complaned far less than you have for a knife that was just good.

SOMEONE else is the one doing the complaining..RE-READ this entire post..I NEVER QUESTIONED what it takes to make a knife...THERE ARE MANY, MANY other professions that require blood, sweat and tears as well...and a couple that require something MORE valuable..ONE'S LIFE..but, this is NOT the issue here...I HAVE SEEN MANY PERSONALLY MADE KNIVES for buyers here go up for sale..why a problem now?
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY unbelievable..THE MAKER MADE ALL OF THE CONTACT and OFFERS..NOT ME..
so, lets stick with the facts..it seems like it is being taken too personal, and the BIG QUESTION is ....WHY?

  1. i DID NOT CONTACT HIM to make me a knife..HE CONTACTED ME
  2. i DID NOT ASK FOR ANYTHING that HE DID NOT OFFER UP FRONT
  3. i DID NOT ASK TO BE PUT AHEAD OF ANYONE
  4. i DID NOT ASK him to COME DOWN ON THE PRICE
  5. i DID NOT...ever mention to him about his lack of communication or his tardy delivery..NOT ONCE

    if what you say is true..a buyer could live with that, IF..the maker wrote to the buyer and let him know of the delays..NOT WAIT FOR HIM TO E-mail FIRST..

    I COULD GO ON AND ON...but, again..i don't understand why larry is taking this personal..if i had called him or e-mailed him begging him to make me a knife, or asked him to jump me above others on the list or even begged him to cut the price..i could understand his frustration..BUT NONE OF THAT IS THE CASE...he contacted me first, asked for my knife i was selling and in return make me another knife..he made ALL OF THE INITAL CONTACT.

    THESE ARE THE FACTS...now, let us return to the whole purpose of this initial post please which was:
    TO APOLOGIZE for my earlier actions..but, whether it is accepted or not, i have no control over...i can only offer it...for those that do not accept it..they must answer to some other than me....

you are ONLY offering an apology. From the tenor and tone, you have forgotten the most important thing:

TO MEAN IT AND TO HAVE LEARNED FROM IT

and, if it is NOT accepted it STILL remains that you shall need to answer to someone else.
