Well not a pup but............
Mitchy The Kid had a big day a few back. We hauled him down to Bakersfield for a 3 in 1 deal. Castration and while he's still asleep, pull his wolf teeth and freeze brand him. Its a process:
The doc was so dang fast on the wolf teeth didn't even get a pic.
Freeze branding. Liquid nitrogen is used instead of fire. Literally ya use a brass brand and let it soak in a lil styrofoam ice chest of liquid nitrogen. Prior to laying the horse down the Doc shaved that area and marked orientation of the brand on the horse with a sharpie. Then once he's down steady pressure for a timed 40 seconds. The cold kills the color cells in the hair follicles so where he is dark the hair will grow back (several months), light and where it is light it will grow back dark.
All awake and ready to head up the hill. He has whats called a "skunk tail." I think it looks like Space Invaders!
