Something or a type specifically you are looking for?Hey Dave and Readmeadow, what favorite guns do you like to use or just plink around with? Do either of you have a Scofield or is the model 3? I know we have seen Dave’s snake gun with the shot he can use,any other traditionals?
I'm easy, I like anything that shoots, the kids and I have been shooting a lot of .22's lately, bolt action, lever action, semi-autos and pistol. They shot some 100yd steel plates the other day with a bolt action in .223 and really enjoyed it. I'd like to get them out for deer season next year, considering picking them up a .243 or maybe 7mm 08.Hey Dave and Readmeadow, what favorite guns do you like to use or just plink around with? Dang it Mack, that would have been lunch on me for sure! We'll link up sometime, I'll be doin some travelling next year, maybe we'll get down your way.Darn. My dispatcher asked two of us if one of us could go to Boise for a couple of weeks. I said yes. Later she sent the other guy to Tacoma. He'll run out of there and Spokane. His first drop from there? Cut Bank MT.
UGHHHHH!
Probably like a Roger Blackhawk or a Single action army in 22LR. Traditional stuff.Something or a type specifically you are looking for?
Not only be she rare but man does she shoot. She is literally the most accurate revolver I've ever shot and I've shot many of hundreds of wheel guns if not more. Because of the need to use half moon clips or full moon clips as the 10mm is rimless its also possible to shoot .40s in her and she may shoot them an hair straighter than a 10. A lil hair.Nice run of guns there, that Bisley is absolutely epic. You an add me to the drool list on that 610, that's a rare beauty indeed!
They are great!. I've carried this one a lot on the ranch back in what we called the "Big Country". No roads and long lining out of a helicopter or horseback is the only way to get there. Well a guy could walk I guess but God made horses. Anyhoo there's lions, tigers and bears back there, oh my! And coyotes the size of German Shepards. A big 10mm was appropriate! Those are beautiful! I've eyed those 610s for years. One day I'll have one.
Just looked that up on YouTube...that is interesting. Looks it actually has a clip for quick reloads.Another absolute fav for which I have also turned down numerous offers for. A Browning made (Mirouku), 1895 Winchester in .30-06. Another great shooter I've rolled a running boar at 275 yds with this guy:
While I don't own a Schofield I have made a holster for one and just came across these pics while I was looking for something else:Hey Dave and Readmeadow, what favorite guns do you like to use or just plink around with? Well that is a real deal, knocking a semi out of battery by pressure on the front of the slide. There have been several verified bear self defense shootings lately where the 10mm has saved the day. Those moon clips with a lil practice can be reloaded faster than speed loaders. That's another beautiful gun! I think the 610 is a perfect bear gun. A lot of guys carry the Glock 10mm but I definitely want a revolver for a bear. I always imagine a bear on top of me close enough to push the slide of a semi auto back just enough and it doesn't go bang!
Wondering if that vid ya saw was talking about one of the Russian ones? They were made with the ability to use stripper clips. Russia bought almost 300,000 of these 1895s chambered in their 7.62x54R cartridge. Reportedly that was about 70 percent of total production of these rifles. The regular civilian ones aren't milled for a stripper clip. Winchester 1895 is a pretty interesting era on the WIKI. I have two Browning rifles by Miroku this one and a Browning Lever Action (BLR) in .243. I would have to say that the quality of these two rifles would be hard to beat. Everything is just right. These Browning rifles in ought six were made in 1985. I bought mine at a gunshow a few years back. It maybe had five or six rounds through it when I got it. Its got more now. Winchester is making them now (still by Miroku), however they differ from the original design with a tang safety and a rebounding hammer. Mine is as John Browning designed it. Well ok probably not the recoil pad but hey.Just looked that up on YouTube...that is interesting. Looks it actually has a clip for quick reloads.
Ah yes it was. Thats interesting that they didn't leave that option in there for the civilian rifles.Wondering if that vid ya saw was talking about one of the Russian ones?
There were quite a few that did hit the civilian market here according to that Wikipedia article. Russian inspectors would not pass them for lots of crazy beurcratic reasons and Winchester would sell those rejected rifles on the civilian market, like the wood being too nice!Ah yes it was. Thats interesting that they didn't leave that option in there for the civilian rifles.
Thought ya might like this. Mrs Horsewright and I were up in the National Forest yesterday cutting firewood on a permit. Mrs Horsewright has her Sig 365 in her back pocket. She was carrying IWB but this was more comfortable bending over and picking up wood:Hey Dave and Readmeadow, what favorite guns do you like to use or just plink around with? I love Glocks but I bought a p365 right after they first came out and fell in love with it. Easy to carry and shoot and hold lots of rounds for its size.Mrs Horsewright has her Sig 365 in her back pocket.
Yeah She had a Springfield EMP, a Smith Shield and a Colt Mustang. This 365 replaced all of them and for the same reasons you mentioned.I love Glocks but I bought a p365 right after they first came out and fell in love with it. Easy to carry and shoot and hold lots of rounds for its size.
