Purple! Because Ice cream has no bones!

Good times, camped at the beach down in San Clemente for a week with the wife's siblings. Wandered through some oddball spots along the way. Been in 11 states this year. CA, AZ, NV, UT, ID, MT, WY, CO, NM, OK, TX. The kids have seen more country than I did by the time I was twice their age, which is good. Winding down the travelling, been on the road a lot since March, looking forward to enjoying winter at home (and by home I mean the shop!!).
Welcome back! I'm glad we were able to spend some time together this year buddy! Just got home from my last hunt of the year. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful for Elk, but at least I got a Buck with the muzzleloader last month.

Sounds like you had a great trip. My life has been turned upside down in a great way. Today was my last day driving trucks. On black friday I'll start my new job as a crematory operator in beautiful San Jose. I moved to Scott's Valley, just north of Santa Cruz. SWMBO is treating me like the King that I am. I even bought a little car to go to work in.
BTW, A kia K5 has a ton of legroom.

Mack, congrats on the new job man! That's a pretty area. I have spent considerable time in Scott's Valley, that's where a LOT of the NASA employees I work with at Ames live. Even had Thanksgiving at one of their homes one year. If I ever get back into aerospace testing and get back out there, we'll have to try to meet up!

Any time you're nearby let me know!!!

We were at Seligman there on 66 one time years ago and I can tell ya for a fact that lil diner is haunted! So having breakfast early and then heading out to the Diamond A headquarters (where my son Logan worked at the time), to look with a couple of friends that were with us at a couple of horses they had for sale. It's about 6 am and we're suppose to be at headquarters (18 miles away) at 8. We are literally sitting there watching the post cards throw them selves out of the rack and onto the floor. The waitress comes over and says, "It's just Tom". She walks into the gift side of the place and shushes Tom away and picked up the cards, organized them and put them back into their respective slots. Locals a couple of tables over: "Yeah Tom does that sometimes." I kid you not, I sat there fork half way up to my face and watched those post cards throw themselves onto the floor.

Let Roy know that was my job too back in April when we dropped Mitchy off in Or. We went to a branding and I became chief log thrower in the branding fire:

Occasionally I'd put a line of dirt across the handles on that log to keep the handle from getting too hot.
I heard there was a way to brand using a really cold method, maybe a sub zero quench?

Yes indeed it's called a freeze brand and is done with liquid nitrogen. Here on Josie's shoulder.

Here in California it's illegal to do on cattle but other stock is fine, cattle must be fire branded. Other states allow freeze branding on cattle. I've seen it on the net but never in person done on cattle. Its a lot more involved than fire branding.

I referenced this post from the Newsletter thread in regards to the first video where I answer the questions that you had for me.

Here's the first one, I try to keep my rambling to a minimum! If there ever was a place for smack talking, this is it, send it!
