Q and A for an Industry Icon

Just for evilgreg , 2 Emerson knives with no lock stick, centered with great fit and finish, made by an American company, from a guy who put his own money on the line to run a business, with great material such as 154cm and G10 which is commonly used by almost every manufacturer I can think of but in addition throws and some titanium to boot:

Thanks to this thread and a few in the recent past I've decided I'm going for the Gentleman Jim next

Good for you, I'm glad you like them and enjoying buying them. I'd recommend a mini A-100 if you can find one, for those times you need a smaller, lighter tactical tool.

That said, your good experiences don't invalidate my bad experiences with the knives any more than my experiences invalidate yours.

I wonder if you find it curious that so many other voices here have had experiences like mine? Nah, after all we could all just be part of some vast and elaborate conspiracy. There's probably nothing to our complaints, and you've seen yourself the knives are great and are an excellent deal, after all.

I got several of them, they're cruder than they should but I like them. Kinda higher end beaters. Which is the intended use, am I correct*?

An icon who sold every knife he ever made. Everyone better recognize!!

I am not saying at all that your complaints are invalid. In my experience Emerson has one of the best warranty department in the knife world.

What I'm more saying is the focus you have on berating Emerson is unique. I've had many a manufacturer give me a lemon. I don't make it a personal vendeta though that's all.

I've tried to make blades. I still suck very much at it so i fully respect those with the talent. Looking at a guy who has made it in the industry back when there was no industry even the guy gets my respect. Even Lynn Thompson I think the guy is a whack job but I still respect him.

In the end you and I are both blade fanatics. Let's just hopefully agree it's good that there is variety and flavor out there enough to satisfy all of us nutcases.

I really like this concept of Q&A
M. Emerson seems to be an interesting person and I had pleasure looking at the video

I like chisel grind for what i experienced but I think I will go for a drop point rather than a tanto myself :)

I stole that pic... Its now going viral.

Off topic, but CM, I had been wondering about that painting. Where did it come from?

I agree. I'd frankly like to see and hear from him more.

The l handed chisel grind? Well, I'll find out soon enough. Kemerson 8k on the way.

No idea... But I would love to have this as a real painting in my house.
