If we are "haters," what does that make you, and how many years will you carry a torch for Jared's knives? Close to four years - not hours - thus far.

"Saying that Jared's character is proof the knives are made in China is ad hominem adjacent, attacking character as proof of guilt."

No, the fact that his word is no good means no weight should be attached to the claims of the company he heads (QTRM5TR is just a Copiousity brand.) about anything, including where the knives are made, the existence of the museum, the clean room, the steel the knives are made of, or how many they have sold.

Some are clearly made in China. Others are clearly made in El Salvador. We have pubic import records for many crates of those knives. And that might be OK for most of us if it wasn't Jared and if his company didn't lie about importing knives. After all, other import knives, but they are up front about it - no three story fantasy factories in Texas. If he lies about the source, how can he be trusted about materials and treatment?

People who live in a dream world might also need professional care, but saying that about you would be an ad hominem attack, like your repeated ad hominem attacks on the community here at BF.

Preposterous. Here is Colossus of the X men:

Your avvatar hero Captain Facepalm looks nothing like Colossus.

That's the classic costume for Colossus. https://www.google.com/search?q=col...592&bih=280&dpr=3#tbm=isch&q=colossus+classic

You can't just make up your own definitions. I am now being attacked directly. That is an explicit ad hominem. Saying that Jared's character is proof the knives are made in China is ad hominem adjacent, attacking character as proof of guilt.

I find it pretty telling that basically nobody has owned one of the knives, yet the bandwagon is a mile long for haters. I really enjoy my Mr Roper, and I found the all ceramic upgrades to be huge, but you guys just can't hold your hate. You really need to care a doctor, because your raging hate-on has lasted far more than 4 hours.

No, ad hominem is when someone attacks your character in order to discredit your argument. Seriously, try to understand words before you use them.

Also, you're trying to claim that someone quoting you exactly is ad hominem. You really need to actually read before you type.

OK, this may be a silly question, but are these knives named after characters from old TV shows?
Wouldn't one need some sort of licensing agreement to market products using what I'd assume are copyrighted characters, or are they old enough to be in the "public domain" in some way?

Yup. TV shows, movies, etc. They've used names from Three's Company, Miami Vice, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Back to the Future, possibly others.

Most, if not all, seem to be from the 70s/80s, so I doubt they're in the public domain. The owners of the rights are probably not aware this company even exists.

I'm NOT an expert so don't take this as gospel at all, but it may be because the product being sold is so different that they copyright/trademark wouldn't apply. I know this CAN apply to trademarks (I could trademark Ole' Whizzer beer and someone could potentially market and sell the Ole' Whizzer urinal without necessarily violating my trademark).

So, is the Quartermaster Qwaiken a direct copy of someone else's design? I like the look but would rather buy from someone more reputable.

....That is an explicit ad hominem....

We're glad you're really enjoying a blatant counterfeit copy of a well-established Warren Thomas design.

You're a straight-up shill.

And you basically trolled yourself into oblivion on the first post by disclosing that these knives are indeed manufactured by the same factory producing WE Knives, among others. Those bearings are not US-sourced. This is a fact. The entire line of knives are manufactured overseas and marketed as MADE IN THE USA.

Jared West is a Professional Loser!

[At 1:11] ".... and QTRM5TR's strictly domestic production only."

A shill is a paid advertiser. The same bearing design is in no way proof of country of origin. How are these things so hard to understand?

I'm not even a big fan of Quartermaster, I just won't stand idly by while you guys bandwagon and use half facts to slam a company. Suspicious =/= guilty. Public opinion =/= fact. If you actually had something solid I would believe it, but I won't be swayed by circumstantial evidence. The fact that you guys are almost demanding that circumstantial evidence be accepted as direct evidence is pretty sad. It's like you are taking this brand's existence as a personal affront, and you will talk anything and everything to damn their name, their employees, their cars, and their cows.

No. It's like YOU are deveststed because we are not sharing your views on this company.
Read the title you posted. Not one member has agreed with you. Don't like it???? Then STOP continuously posting how wonderful they are.....again and again and again.

Think of it however you want. This is how it is going to be. The forum does not agree with you. Same with your pro-counterfeit arguments. And now you've painted yourself into a corner where many won't take anything you say seriously. You made this bed.

I'd like to stop by the 3 story knife museum, next spring while on vacation. Wonder if I'd be welcome to visit this marvel of knife history?

Me too, that's what roped me into this thread. I'm visiting family about 30 minutes away in July and would love to take my dad and the guy my cousin married there as a nice "men getting away for a few hours" deal.

dkb45, where is the knife museum? And I don't mean that all accusatorily like it's gonna read in this thread, I just want the address or Facebook page or phone number or literally any information about its existence. I've googled the hell out of It and all I see on Google maps of any of the associated Quartermaster addresses are houses and fields, there's not even like a big garage or shed or something. Just link me the webpage that has to exist for it and I'll seriously buy and post pics of at least one Quartermaster knife when I go there (since you seem to want to see them succeed so strongly).

Yes. But some are unconcerned with legalities.

It's all circumstantial evidence bro. I'm sure it is there.

He has a point -sorta. While there is direct evidence that Jared's company imports knives from overseas, that is only circumstantial evidence that Jared's company sold these knives in the U.S.

Of course, that circumstantial evidence is perfectly good in a court and can send a defendant to prison or execution seems to be something he missed.

"Shill: an accomplice of a hawker, gambler, or swindler who acts as an enthusiastic customer to entice or encourage others." Pay is not required. But I have no evidence of close relationship between dkb and Jared.
