They certainly are under no legal obligation to continue selling knives that are falsely marketed as Made in the USA. In fact, it's illegal to do so. The retailer is obligated to have "competent and reliable evidence" of its claims that a product is Made in the USA. If they are in doubt, they should, at a minimum, drop those assertions from their websites.

No, because they're making money. Those two companies are relatively huge retailers. I don't know how much investment they have in the knife community, but they're sure making good money on it.

Probably less because I don't see anyone here wanting to boycott KC and BHQ over it. And if that's what people want to do, wouldn't you also boycott this forum for supporting companies who knowingly sell quarterehatever and striders?

I personally am not boycotting either company, KC or BHQ, because they sell things I want at good prices with good customer support.
 
on their website their video of their "machinist" is such a joke.All hes doing is opening and closing g drawers and pulling out parts that don't look like knife parts,and there is a shot of a guy in font of a machine, I bet he stood in front of the cnc machine in China when him and jared went there to look over the factory andmake a deal with them to produce their knives...
 
once the legal parties are contacted you can also tell them that they are being distributed by knifecenter.com and bladehq.com and that bladehq ignored the evidence when they were informed of it in 2015.

bladeHQ does ALOT for the knife community, weapon laws, etc. its about time they do us right again. yes they are not the only ones selling them, but they have a part in this community, and they have to do the right thing, and not pass the buck, eg

If people think we're willfully ignoring the accusations then they're wrong. We have had (and continue to have) pointed discussions with Quartermaster about this subject. We have been assured that the knives are manufactured in the USA. I still don't understand why the burden of judgement seems to rest on BHQ. What I "know" personally is not enough to "convict" anyone. It's not viable for us to confirm all origins, materials, backstories, business ethics, etc. Cost issues aside, if we did that we'd probably end up dropping half our product line. If the need arises we will take appropriate action. In the meantime we just want to sell knives.

Interesting to see who sells products of the Hall of Shame.

Oh look, someone sells Nocturnal Knives while the public who paid directly don't get theirs at all. And so many other names from the Hall of Shame appear on the maker list at one seller of "custom knives."

Yes, as a matter of fact, I have taken the time to read ALL of post, including the last few pages. So, you presume incorrectly.

The OP finally made a statement about a somewhat change of heart on the issues. My comment was based upon that fact, plus my surprise and amusement that the thread continues. Am I not allowed to comment about my surprise or amusement? Apparently not, according to you.

Oh, just for the record, any person or company that produces goods marked incorrectly, is filth in my eyes. So until Quartermaster changes their ways, I will not be a customer and I doubt I ever will.

As for members here having more resolve than ever to banish fraudsters, go for it. The idea that any member here truly has some power(if any at all) upon the morals, thoughts or actions of another forum member or outside entity is laughable. Tilt against windmills to your heart's desire.

What the hell are you babbling about? Changing people's minds is obviously not within another person's power.

Now, if enough people express disdain for what an entity is doing things can in fact change. Especially so, if what said entity is doing is ILLEGAL and a helping hand from uncle Sam pushes them in the right direction.

I emailed BladeHQ this morning about the Quartermaster issues, I don't expect much to come of it, but I figure if enough people make this a big deal then they'll at least consider dropping them. I asked them to at least remove the country of origin as USA due to the overwhelming evidence, or add a disclaimer about there being doubt about where they're made. Adding that disclaimer or removing country of origin would be at least a minor victory towards fully exposing QM to people outside the forums.

They have an instagram feed where everyone complained about it when they posted qmaster sale, and they were also asked to remove the country of origin, but they did not reply at all. check out their instagram, you may have to go just a few months back to see the qmaster post they made. Jim Skelton posted some of the facts in that bladeHQ instargam post. Jim Skelton also had a Givaway on his instagram the best meme of quartermaster, you will have to look back a few more months for that
