Quartermaster knife woes

Did I say that? Nope.

The obvious conclusion is we don't know where they are made and they won't tell us. As a potential customer I don't need to be screwed around like that. Way too many reputable companies to deal with. YMMV.

I think this sums up the point of this entire thread quite nicely.....

Current owners as Jeffrey Klien and Sallie Trout of Las Vegas Nv. . All public info from the County Clerk Office. No knife factory.

Still going off of the old address....Or a new secret one? And if these are the new owners, why would they have a knife company.

The point is nobody has any idea because they're hiding behind a PO Box.

Would you feel as comfortable with Benchmade or Spyderco if their only outside presence was a PO box? I don't think so.

I know what you're thinking. We can't expect that much from them, they're not in the same class as those manufacturers.

Exactly.

Look. If I had a knife company and I was getting bad press like this then you could bet that I would have an informal shop tour video up in a hot minute as a big old F-U to my detractors.

Instead? Silence and hiding.

Seriously, I don't expect much else. Look at how they name their products. Even that is sketchy. Ricardo Tubbs? Sonny Crockett? I don't think that Miami Vice has hit the public domain yet, especially with the recent movie. I'm sure the relevant rights holder would object to it.

What if I came up with a really cool knife design and decided to call it the "James Bond"? Would that be OK? I think not.

House has been on the market on and off since 2008. Price dropping the whole time. No sales. Maybe they were renting?

Results of further research regarding the business dealings of Jared Randall West:

Jared Randall West (hereinafter "Jared") has said, including in an "interview" available on line, that he does not "own" Quartermaster Knives. He says he designs for Quartermaster.

The Quartermaster Knives site says that the legal entity is QTRM5TR Ordinance Mfg. (Note that the fifth character is "5" not "S.")

I find no record of a legal entity named QTRM5TR Ordinance Mfg. However, there is a record showing that QTRM5TR is a registered trademark for COPIOUSITY LLC, a legal entity. https://trademarks.justia.com/858/64/qtrm5tr-85864785.html

As noted above, Jared is listed as the "principal" and registered agent for COPIOUSITY LLC., which has been listed, and was claimed by Jared, as located at 227 Turkey Drive, Dripping Springs, Texas
http://start.cortera.com/company/research/l5r2jql0p/copiousity-llc/

As noted above, COPIOUSITY imported the three shipments of Chinese knives, amounting to tons of knives.

The web domain name CoupiouSity.com was registered by Jared of COPIOUSITY LLC. http://whois.domaintools.com/copiousity.com https://whoisology.com/archive_8/copiousity.com j.randallwest@gmail.com

Jared of COPIOUSITY LLC has also listed COPIOUSITY.ORG [Yes. "ORG"] as a domain name. http://www.whoismind.com/whois/copiousity.org.html

Jared of COPIOUSITY LLC also registered Freefakllh2o.com and Jengahouse.com, both located at 227 Turkey Run
http://www.whoismind.com/whois/freefallh2o.com.html
http://www.whoismind.com/whois/jengahouse.com.html

The names for several knives sold by COPIOUSITY LLC (dba Quartermaster Knives and QTRM5TR) such as Hannibal, Barabas, and Thomas Magnum, appear to be the property of NBC or CBS. I can find no record of a license agreement

As always, all are free to form their own conclusions.
