Quartermaster knife woes

A translation :

The 6-acre complex
(6 acre lot has more than one building)

is under 24 hour surveillance using recently de-classified thermal imaging sensors.
(we have a home security system and it has night vision)

The 8,500 square foot facility
(house is 8500 Sq feet)

is home to multiple design studios,
(kitchen table, living room table, dining room table)

think-tanks
(study, porch, home theater)

a 3,000 sq ft shop floor.
(it has a big garage)

However, a medical-grade clean room
(we don't let the cats into part of the house)

and a 3 story-high knife museum
(we took the books off the library shelves and put knives on them)

with a biometric-scanner that allows/disallows access
(we bought a fingerprint lock from Home Depot. It's way cool)

are likely to be considered the highlights of our facility.

Even I have to give you points for this. This thread needed some levity.:D

if someone bought a Quartermaster knife online believing that it was 100% made in the USA, and now believes that to be false based on all this information, I THINK they could file a complaint with the FTC under "online shopping" here

https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/Information#crnt&panel1-1

I didn't go through the whole thing since I got my QTR-6 here in a trade so I have no "standing" to complain. Also it is a very well-made knife. but as we know the Chinese are getting good at that!

Didn't Chris Reeve and Emerson start making knives out of their garages at home?
Invalid comparison. Chris & Ernie started as custom knifemakers making knives one at a time. When they started they could not be compared to knife factories.

Did reeve and Emerson lie about the knives they made? Lie about where there made? Lie about how there made?

Using reeve and Emerson in the same paragraph as Jared west and qtrmstr is only acceptable if you speaking to what Jared west is NOT, which is a credible knife maker.
Didn't Chris Reeve and Emerson start making knives out of their garages at home? I just do not see how an address that was listed at one time has anything to do with "proof". What proof does this house have to do with what you folks are making it out to be?

It's like....Here is an orange. This proves that my car was parked on 1st street at 2am on Tuesday.

I am not sure if it proves anything. But he said at the time that it was a purpose-built from the ground up high-tech factory to build knives.

It seems to be a single-family residence. Or maybe an orange. YMMV.

Companies over sell and embellish their image all the time...I mean, do polar bears actually drink Coke? As for Quartermaster, I am just going off what their site says now. It is pretty mundane.

I am making the comparison that their respective businesses were started in a garage/house. The constant comments here are.....OMG, look their address is a house....OMG. CONSPIRACY!!!!!!

They themselves listed that as the address of their state of the art manufacturing facility. The house is at that address. They claim certain features in their state of the art facility and have posted pictures of them (the museum) that are identical in appearance to the unique features of the house at that address. It goes to follow that their state of the art facility is one in the same as that house.

Emerson started out in his garage as did many custom makers. That is a very labor intensive low volume situation. Once you scale up to the size of a major manufacturer, more facilities are required. I.e., a factory. There is no factory large enough to support quartermaster's activities located in that residential address. Other manufacturers don't seem to have a need to hide their activities.

Exactly, I guess the lies and hiding doesn't send red flags to screwdriver, that's why he doesn't understand.

So Quartermaster does not hide that the 227 Turkey Dr. address was where the company was founded. In fact they even show an image of the house on their Instagram page and state that fact. In the links you guys have provided, it even shows a large workshop and the property is also zoned for commercial use.

Here is an outside picture of the workshop shown on Quartermasters Instagram.

Here is the interior of the workshop as shown on realtor.com

This place could easily be where the knives were first made....Now the house is on the market and empty. They have not stated where the new location is.

Please explain to me again that this is proof of, what again?

As tough as it may be for some of you, this discussion needs to be kept civil. There will be no insults direct or indirect. It's best to simply agree to disagree and walk away. If you cannot abide by that simple, common sense request, then maybe some warnings will be more convincing.

I would be very interested, on hearing how some of the Moderator's feel about this topic of conversation. FWIW- we've already had an abundance of debate on this forum, regarding, QM knives.

Aside from that, I would like to request that you (Mod's), please close this thread; two days of this ridiculous back & forth redundancy, makes me want to start my morning off, with a freaking OJ & Vodka (Screwdriver)...& I'm not even a drinker...

I have 2 nephews that live and work in the area. Both drove to the secret knife factory location and found nothing.Talked to people in the area about the knife factory and any employees, again nothing. I really could care less other than to enlighten fellow knife enthusiasts.

Seems legit to me....I'll bow out of this thread now and will not post any comments.

Thanks for proof.

Seriously.....done here.

For ALL to check for yourselves call the county clerks office at (830) 868- 7357 and ask for any DBA (Doing Business At ) for the address. This isn't rocket science,it would be of public record and there's NO KNIFE FACTORY! Unless the County clerk is in on some wild conspiracy.
BTW I'm shocked dealers selling this brand can't even bother to verify something as simple as this.:o

So the obvious conclusion is China?

Did I say that? Nope.

The obvious conclusion is we don't know where they are made and they won't tell us. As a potential customer I don't need to be screwed around like that. Way too many reputable companies to deal with. YMMV.

The house is empty and up for sale...the realtor images just show staged furniture. You would need to know their current address. That old address is invalid.
