How can BladeHQ put up that video in good conscience? Haven't they seen the Warren Thomas and GTC designs that were ripped off?

Good question. I dig some of QMs designs but am hesitant to act until I get some answers. Money talks bs walks.

Holy crap. Watched the bladehq shot show of Quartermaster and first off, it looks sketchy that Mr west is secluding himself secondly 2 of those designs are blatantly design copies of gtc....wow

Go to the end of the video, it says "get quatermaster knives here"
I don't think I'll be getting his knives at any of the retailers that sell them. Imho the retailers that sell his knives should physicaly visit this supposed Texas knife shop .Is that to much to ask for their customers? Hell I'll go one better, give me the address and I will go their myself to clear this up.Some of his models retail at around $400.

The more I think about this, the more disappointed I am with BladeHQ. I have spent a lot of $ with them, and always received great service. But this issues is pretty cut and dried; Quartermaster is committing fraud and lying about having a manufacturing facility. BladeHQ provides them with a level of legitimacy buy selling their products. That is... not good.

"QTRMSTR was founded in 2012. The principals in the business have a combined 25 years of experience in aerospace and industrial design. At its inception, the goal of the QTRMSTR Knife Company is to design and develop a line of rugged, hand-crafted, American made knives in limited quantity but of ultimate quality.

Quartermaster is dedicated producing unique, domestically made items for real users and this will continue to set them apart from the competition for years to come. Their no-nonsense approach extends from their designs, well past their assembly processes and into their marketing practices. They don’t let anything sub-standard out of their doors, EVER and they won’t mince words about which customers they'd like to have: They're QTRMSTR and they're a knife built for a new generation of American Soldier"

It is pretty easy to find the name of the owner / senior manager of most major knife companies. The fact that "QTRMSTR" is intentionally vague about who owns the company and where they are located aligns perfectly with everything else that is know about this deceptive company.

agreed 100%....I only posted that because I find it a bit disappointing that such a well known on-line dealer very well may be misleading folks who dont know the story behind all the controversy

I 100% agree with you, Lee. And let's not forget, Blade HQ actually posted on another thread about QM saying that they don't research claims made by manufacturers. (I am sure that someone with better search skills than me can look up the comment made by Blade HQ and quote it in this thread for reference.) While I understand that they cannot do a comprehensive review of EVEY claim made by EVERY knife manufacturer, this is a different issue. The evidence has been presented, and BHQ knows about it. Short of some miraculous evidence being presented to the contrary, it is obvious that QM is lying about being made in the US and having any kind of manufacturing facility in TX, and yet Blade HQ continues to sell their knives.

Why is HQ being put on the spot here, there is lots of other dealers who sale their product, knifeworks, knifecenter, osogrande and some more... Just saying.

Why is HQ being put on the spot here

That's what we're wondering.

It feels like our reward for active participation in the knife community (traveling and filming at SHOT) is getting lambasted. Is our reward for not being judge and jury regarding Quartermaster is to be judged ourselves? I really don't get it. With so many other companies actively promoting and selling this brand I'm a little floored.

It might be that BladeHQ was the author of the video that set off the idea. Just a guess. I'm certain that if any other retailer would have made that video it would have gotten the same reaction. I wouldn't take it too personally. Retail companies are in the business of making money by selling items, not by passing moral judgments on people.
