Quartermaster Knives....WTF

I sent an email to Knife center this afternoon expressing my concerns, hopefully they'll respond sooner than later.

Still no reply from knife center? Did you get a response back from your email yet? They might be discussing it? The evidence is over whelming.

If they advertise "Made In USA" and sell knives that aren't.....what else is there to discuss??

Screwdriver, we went through this on my thread. There is very little solid proof for or against Quartermaster being US made. It is very unlikely that a few shipments could supply the company for years with all of their models and variants they offer, but the claimed location is a house that couldn't possibly hold a factory with that level of production, unless they work 35 hours a day. Jared West is a scummy individual, and brings the question of legitimacy whenever he is involved, but him being involved doesn't automatically say fraud. There is only one solid bit of evidence, which was the straw that broke the camel's back for me, and that was Quartermaster defrauding Warren Thomas and basically exploiting the fact that he doesn't have a huge expensive team of lawyers to stop them.

It infuriates me to say it, because I adore my Mr Roper Eviction, but there is basically nothing saying Quartermaster is above board, and the only solid evidence we have says they are definitely below board. Mind you, I was a huge fan, and maintained skepticism as long as possible, but that goes out the window when they virtually don't exist, and nobody has one shred of evidence either way on them, and the only real thing anybody can find is them screwing a well respected maker.

^  The most intelligent, unbiased comment I've read in this thread!

Unless somebody here can submit the smoking gun evidence regarding their claims...anything beyond this, is a waste of time...& it will, come up again!

When there is no factory where Jared says the "Quartermaster" Texas factory is located, that is solid proof there is no Quartermaster factory.

The Warren Thomas business goes to integrity, not irrelevant when the sole claim of US origin comes from Jared, but not nearly as direct proof as the lack of the claimed factory, the tons of Chinese knives imported, and the refusal to assure major retailers of the validity of his claims. All they heard back was crickets.

On the other paw, to quote a member here, "there is basically nothing saying Quartermaster is above board."

.

I'm not sure why this concept is so difficult for some to grasp. The burden of proof, both legal and ethical, is on the party making the claim of USA Made. That goes for both the manufacturer and the marketer (dealer). Where, as here, there is significant circumstantial evidence (proof of large Chinese imports - whether finished goods or material), and the absence of any physical manufacturing facility, accepting the bare claims of the manufacturer requires a degree of credulity that is simply irrational.

Quartermaster claims they make everything at their factory. There's no factory. They aren't made in the US. I'll be checking retailers before my next purchase to see who is still supporting this trash company.

If the attorney's here on BF practiced their professed profession in real life, as often as they do here on BladeForums...

they'd be multi-millionaires! :greedy_dollars:

No offense intended to anybody in particular; but if there is one profession of people that I have the least amount of respect for, and, they nauseate the hell out of me (at least the couple I've have the displeasure of working with)... :distrust:

And FWIW: nobody here is stating that they'd buy these crappy knives, or that some of these unsubstantiated allegations are true. Re-read dbk45's quote (I'll highlight it for you):

With all due respect (is that how it goes?), reposting an internally inconsistent comment in really big font doesn't make it any more consistent or logical. It just makes it obnoxious.

Quartermaster. We've heard it before and now we're reduced to having it screamed at us.

Got the message. Quartermaster is a lie. And some members here don't know how to say it with respect for the rest of us.
