Queen 2015

Yep, it's a collaboration knife they did with Bill Ruple. They also have a Joe Pardue collaboration folding hunter out.

That's cool. Bill is a very deserving maker of a colab w/ a large knife company and is a great guy to boot.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending some time with Courtney Daniels at the Badger Knife Club Show. I have to say that she was very friendly, and answered all of my questions. She was great with my kids, and when she saw how interested they were in the knives on her table she dug around underneath a little and came out with a queen knife to give each of them. I didn't know about it, but they have a Queen Kiddo Knife Program. She signed and dated the box for each of them. All three of us were blown away by this, and my son was eager to show off his new knife to everybody we saw for the rest of the day. My daughter got a Queen Steel #96 doctor's knife and my son got a #14 yella peanut. Here's a picture of Courtney and my kids displaying their new knives:

They came in these boxes:

Here's some closer pics of the knives:

And of course Papa couldn't go home empty handed. :D
I snagged the one buffalo horn Ruple trapper they had at the show:

The fit and finish of this knife is better than any other knife I own. I'm not going to say it's flawless, as there are always things here and there with a production knife, but it's a step above even the GECs in my opinion. Queen really did a knockout job with these knives. As a bonus, it even came with this cool case:

Overall, I was very happy with the quality of knives they had at the show. Courtney won me over, and converted me from somebody that looked at Queen a lot and was hesitant to hand over my money to a Queen fan. I'll definitely be doing more Queen shopping in the near future.

Nice post!

In talks with Ken Daniels now, will see what happens next! Apparently an individual is no longer working there...
How did this work out? Even if nothing has changed since your last post, your experience is still a significant improvement over what I experienced from Queen's customer service in 2013. Perhaps in a couple more years they'll have a functioning customer service department, and can begin to explore the mysteries of "quality control" . . . .

Just saw the new small sleeve board in buffalo! It looks like a perfect size for work carry and it comes with d2 steel:thumbup:

That is mean. One rant by one customer does not mean a total lack of control nor a lack of customer service. This stuff belongs in GB&U where there already is a thread by Cuts Like a Kris on this very topic.

Discuss the knives. Discussions on customer service, or lack of, belong in GB&U, As brownshoe mentioned.

Has anybody got a hold of the new 2015 Queen Medium Toothpick? I just picked up a Queen/Dan Burke Baby Sunfish and I like it, so a walnut toothpick could be my next Queen knife.

I picked up one of the 2015 Barlow's and I am very happy with it. My opinion is that it is very well made, came shaving sharp. Easily one of my favorite Barlow's.

Maybe this has already been mentioned and forgive me if it has.

Anybody know exactly when they started stamping DFC on the tang? My Railsplitter does not have the stamp but I know it was made well after the Daniels family takeover.

Beauty you got there. Good score on the bone, it looks fantastic. I actually like the shield on this one. I wasn't so sure on the wood version, but on that bone it looks right at home.

I got in a new small sleeveboard in buffalo horn on Wednesday. I haven't had too much time to play with it before today, but I am finally getting to get acquainted with this knife. It is just beautiful. The horn is better than I had hoped, and the knife is incredibly slim. How they managed to sneak two blades into this knife with no rub I'll never know.

I'm really struggling to capture the beauty of this knife, and I'm failing with my cell phone camera and embarrassing photography skills. I will say that if anybody is on the fence on one of these go for it. This knife is just spectacular.

Blade Play had it in my hands in as few as four days! (Great service from great people)!

This QZ-26 has beautiful zebra wood scales, as well as a marvelous "fit and finish." I am VERY impressed! Putting a nice "razor sharp" edge on all three blades is a priority for me. (I think everyone on this forum feels that a sharp knife is a safe knife).

I'll NEVER let this piece of fine cutlery slip from between my fingers. (that could hurt)!

Their zebrawood is some of the nicest looking wood I've seen on a knife. I'm a big fan. Too bad they aren't using it anymore.

Picked up this 69 1/2 Barlow in Walnut a couple of days ago. F&F is great!

I snagged the last one Blade Play had in stock! *giggle* AND IT'S MINE... ALL MINE! (And no, you can't have it)! :D

In memoriam Queen Zebrawood. I suppose they ran out of reliable suppliers? But I do hear that it's hard stuff to work with - it is a very attractive material without a doubt.

Cory That horn Sleeveboard is a marvelous knife, I feel I need to order one right away:D What more proof of a good knife does anyone need?

Thanks, Will
