Craig, I just took a 3' piece of 6" pipe and welded a bottom on it. I think it holds around 4 -5 gallons, works good.

I went to home depot and found a watertight metal planter that holds 3.5 gallons. Its elliptical/rectangluar in shape, which is great for blades as well. I just cover it with saran wrap so dust and grindings dont go in it and store it on a shelf. If it flares up during quench, i just throw a small piece of plywood on the top and smother it.

Thanks... I have an old aluminum fish steamer... its a good size but still won't hold 5 gallons...

Whew! What a day. Both Kathryn and I have been going nonstop since 8 a.m. yesterday morning! :) The first round of oils shipments are going out in about 6 hours. My arms are going to be sore tomorrow from running that drum pump all day...I need to get one of those fancy air operated ones I think.

Long day today too, getting some forges ready to ship, repackaging supplies, getting orders ready for Batson's and then finally, packing the truck and trailer for Batson's. I need a few days away from the shop, I am so looking forward to the hammer-in! :)

Thanks guys for the oil and salt purchases, I appreciate it!

:)

You can get a stainless steel steam table tray that will hold 5 gal from any resturant supply store for about $15.00.

Just in case anyone here is going to Batson's or if you know someone going to Batson's. If you want to save on shipping charges, we will have 6 five gallon containers of each of the Quench oils with us as well as a few buckets of the High Temp Salts....just wanted to get the word out. It'll go fast, so catch us early on Friday if you want to pick some up.

:)
