Question about mail tampering

So, are you trying to say that, unless davec611 has a big pile of luck, he will be left screwed?
I knew there was a lot of truth in that statement the moment I received the buyers email that he had shipped the correct knife. As i mentioned I am considered LEO and work with them everyday. I have some idea how hard something like this is to solve given the best of circumstances. I did what I could to report the incident and i will take precautions in shipping items from now on.
No the seller is not a member of bladeforums.
Just disappointing that I have two issues in the last month on the same forum. Going to stick to buying knives and even flashlights here now.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I will pass on any information i get.

Beyond reporting it to the postal authorities like Dave has done, let's hear how you would locate the missing knife?
Dave,What a coincidence,I also dealt with an individual located in Uriah, Alabama.What are the chances that I'm also dealing with same person and an Emerson.

It looks like a fair rural country part of the country,so I wrote it off as such.According to him my package was shipped in a padded envelope last week.I'm expecting it sometime next week,since I'm located north of the 49 parallel.Dave, If my knife suffers the same fate, we''ll known something up.Until then...

Did you receive you knife and was everything OK?
Dave,I didn't get the knife yet but I did contacted the seller,friday morning but my email got flagged as junk mail.So I resent another message and got a response from the seller to my inquiry Saturday.As to when it was shipped.Found out,my knife was actually shipped several days later than what I was told.
