Quintessential GEC?

I wonder if someone knows the most produced GEC pattern. I guess I could add up every pattern from the GEC yearly production totals on their website. I would assume it would be the 15 pattern, but maybe it is something made more recently especially since the production runs have gotten bigger over the past few years.

I vote for the Bull nose :) lol

It's sort of similar in dimensions/shape and practical use as the 73 but is "pinchable".

Which one would this cowboy pick ?
( Don't cowboys wear gloves a lot of the time ? :D

Disclaimer: I don't own either , I am just teasing.

Of the four GEC's I own my 77 yankee barlow is the one  ... and is "barely pinchable" :)

Correct the 15 is the most produced pattern.

The quintessential GEC logo should be a shield thats stamped with "Out of Stock" in fancy font. ;) (and itd be on a knife thats being scalped on the secondary market for $300)

I guess if I had to pick Id say the 15 is the most common pattern, so maybe a Northfield version of the 15, though I dont have a 15. :(

Well, overall, I'd have to agree with the #15 as being that one GEC that everyone seems to have (except me! LOL).

For me personally, I believe the quintessential GEC is the #86. It's what captured my interest in GECs and got me on the path to collecting them. The pattern is everything I love about a classic knife, yet it's still large enough for my mitts to really get hold of. Just love everything about them, and was fortunate enough that I just happened to visit the Porch around the time they'd been released, so I could get an example of nearly every cover, something that would be nearly impossible to do now.

Necro-ing thread just to say I agree with OP.
For me, the Viper is the best all-around pattern. Not too big, not too small (15), pinch-able, has a perfect EDC bladeshape and a lanyard hole to make pulling it out of a pocket slip easy.

Something different from other companies and sets them apart, how about the 79 workhorse whittler. Basically three main blades. What about a two-spring four bladed large cattle knife with punch (the 53/54 pattern). I personally think the geppetto whittler on the 57 frame is a work of art and craftsmanship (although I think the pattern had been made by many in the past). A true splitback that is just good for everything I run across.

This one is a very pleasing knife for the eyes. Thanks for posting it.
Very kind of you to say so, I really like these original all steel Eureka knives despite not being a monster fan of same end Jacks. Paradoxes are often rewarding...
