Very kind of you to say so, I really like these original all steel Eureka knives despite not being a monster fan of same end Jacks. Paradoxes are often rewarding...
To me, quintessential GEC is not one particular pattern, but a type of knife unique to GEC. I think of Beer Scouts, those strange little 25’s, classy Barlows, difficult to make wedge whittlers, classic cigar 35’s, traditional trappers, and the elegant 85’s to name just a few that pop into my mind. These are knives that just make you happy to drop into your pocket. They have rich and interesting handles materials and a uniqueness about them. Of course, they have excellent fit and finish. These 85 Caplifters fit the GEC mold perfectly!
While the equal end cigar is nothing new and certainly at face value nothing that would set GEC apart, but what about an equal end congress with 4 straight blades, two cope, two wharncliffe. That certainly is unique!
