Raccoon

Anybody know how to trap or kill these raccons there really starting to bother me alot please help.

You could shoot them with a .22LR? Or, places like Tractor Supply sell traps that will allow you to catch them alive. But, then you've still got to do something with the live 'coon. Also, be careful. 'Coons are pretty fearsome fighters when they want to be.

Haveahart trap marshmallowswith peanutbutter on them is a killer bait... other than that a .22lr worked wonders on the ones that raided the chicken coop when I was younger.

Trap them in a cage and then fill up a trash can with enough water to cover and give them a good dunk for 20-25 minutes.

.22lr would be the best way but it isn't always possible in suburban areas and it can be messy.

This is what I built, it still works. This past season, I have trapped 30 coons and five possums.

how are they bothering you?

First of all they start @ around 1 AM EVERYDAY opening the trash can!!!! they the noise of bags being ripped open keep me up, Also they leave me a huge mess in the back yard. I tried to put a cinderblock on the trash can but they broke it. Now im out for revenge

Use a live trap and haul the things out to the boonies. We caught nine feral cats and a few possums that way. The humane society put all but one of the cats down, and we just released the possums (cause they're so pretty). Works like a charm.

Stick a loud wind up alarm clock set to go off at 1am in the trash can. Or do like my sister did... keep your garbage can in the garage and put it out on the morning of collection. I'd stay away from poisons... some of your neighbors might be offended if their cat doesn't come home.

Here are the pics for the trap.
