Raccoon

I believe there might still be posts around from a guy who goes by the name of "Possum Hunter".
The guy would go after raccoons an opossums with a bowie knife. He found that a .22 inside a wheat/corn silo would penetrate and bounce around too much and wouldn't stop them fast enough. A cheap bowie solved his problem.

Hey there, Dave. I'm still around too. ;)

The guy has already gotten some advice though, and seems to have decided on how he's gonna handle the problem. So, good luck.

I have a 700 fps pellet gun will that work

I definitely do not recommend a pellet gun to kill raccoon. Just not enough punch, unless you are using the really expensive large bore kind. I have shot them with a 1000 FPS .177 caliber Gamo airgun and had them just run off with minor wounds. I think an airgun is good for birds and squirrels, but not raccoons which can get bigger then cats and up to the size of small dogs.

A 22LR or 22 CB is what I recommend.

I haven't read every post so I hope i ain't echoing here. My neighbor live traps coons in the back of the house woods , penut butter works well when he gets a coon (every time) he calls a coon hunting club buddy and they turn them loose in the hunting lease.
