My father is really big into genealogy and, over the last 30 years or so, has documented an enormous amount of "family data" including the first male "one of us" to set foot in America. He was northern African. I'm a direct male line descendent. They substantiated some of this with DNA testing that looks at certain markers on the y chromosome. Kind of trippy.

My grandpa was really big into genealogy too when we was alive. Found out lots of interesting stuff. The one that stood out the most to me, he/we were directly related to John Henry.
