Has anyone ever owned a Dog that they didn't train?

As kids we became owners of my Uncle’s beagle. The thought of chasing rabbits with a dog was great. The dog just loved to bark a lot at nothing, was overly aggressive around his food, would take off when we did hunt, and was just a stubborn A-hole.

Maybe you’ll have better luck. My dad ended up giving him away to a guy who wanted him and we all rejoiced.

Wait a minute, a guy named Frank is stumping for Frank’s boots? Seems like a shill to me……😜

That out of the way, I have recently been in your boots. For me it was between White’s, Wesco, Frank’s and Nick’s. Having no proof to back it up, I am not certain White’s are quite what they used to be, so I passed on them. The Wescos are great and have more options than anyone as far as even being to pick thread colors. I didn’t really care about all that or feel like paying extra for options I wasn’t going to take advantage of. I am sure someone like Casinostocks Casinostocks would love glitzing up a pair of Wescos, but he is way to big of a puss puss to ever be able to break in any of these boots mentioned as the only things that are perpetually softer than his banker hands are his feet and that other thing.

That left Nick’s and Frank’s. As you mentioned, Frank used to be at Nick’s. They are for all intents and purposes the exact same boot. I am currently breaking in a new pair from Nick’s. First day was a few hours and it was rough. Second day was a little better and has gotten progressively better as the days pass. I am about two weeks in and they are starting to feel pretty good and I can wear them as long as I want to.

I went with Nick’s for two reasons. First reason, while I suspect the service after the sale with Frank’s is great, I know it is exceptional at Nick’s. Second reason, screw anybody named Frank.

Wesco boots are practically made in my backyard and back when I was spiking poles, they were the preferred boot, hands down. Once you break them in, I could climb all day long in a pair of Wescos - I'd be hard pressed to want a different boot.

Wescos are top flight for sure, I’d have no problem with a pair of new jobmasters. Once they were all spec’d out, they were about $100 more than the Nick’s and I was gonna have to wait. Nick’s had a pair ready to ship in my size, so with that and the $100 back in my pocket, that’s the way I went. I think all the brands mentioned are top of the very small heap and you really can’t go wrong with any of them.

I haven't bought a pair of Wescos in many years. I went to price out a pair of their "Boss" boots a short while back when I was looking to replace a pair of my Fryes (been wearing those for everyday wear for years) and I had a brief moment of sticker shock. The last pair of Wescos that I bought (Highliner, if memory serves) were around $450 - these days, you are pushing almost double that, even with minimal "extras".

In my experience beagles tend to be a- holes.

Somehow we inadvertently trained our poodle to bite the sh*te out of my dad whenever he cornered the pooch with a rolled up newspaper. Of course, Reggie (the poodle) was always mystified as to how the kitchen trash can was turned over and its contents strewn throughout the house. Somebody learned something, eventually.

One of the hazards of working in a machine shop is you will occasionally get coolant splashed in your face while blowing something off. One of the dangers of working in a machine shop is grabbing the closest clean looking rag to wipe your face and discovering that was Mark's WD-40 rag he was wiping knives off with..

Timmy can relate....

Any rag not directly from the clean rag bag is automatically assumed to be nasty😂

During the first week of cadaver dissection in school I was in the lab and got cadaver-juice sprayed in my face… and mouth :(
0/10 would not recommend
The worst part is having to save face after; pretending that it didn’t happen and then seeing later dried formaldehyde droplets on your face… pretty embarrassing. Or so I’m told…
