Congrats on the snag, Tommy.

Not sure how I forgot to mention it, but I got a dog earlier this week.

Shelter mutts are the best dogs! My wife is part of a local rescue. Her group went to Xenia, Ohio yesterday to support the pup in the linked case (http://www.xeniagazette.com/news/22373/xenia-puppy-abuse-case-moves-forward). Hoping the dips4!t responsible gets the maximum penalty.
Sorry for the downer post, but your pup reminded me of "Willow".

I'm compelled to share a cautionary tale from the GBU this morn. I'm linking here because it's not just one bad trade that you'd spot on their profile reviews, or hear about their bad rep after repeated bad experiences over time; the trader was especially deceptive and built positive reviews with cheaper knives, deliberately cashing in on that rep to execute a multiple sale fraud in just a few days. A number of high end knives were "sold" or "traded" (or in one case, the same knife was "sold" to half a dozen buyers at the same time). The fraudster didn't deliver the promised trades or sales, but received lots of forum members' cash and property. Their known BF accounts are now banned, but apparently they've done this before and returned:

A man and or woman with last name "Falldorf", presently from Granville, ND, previously a resident of Alaska. Apparently they are also "trading" on other prominent platforms. Sorry for the morning downer, but hopefully knowing their name might save one of ya' some pain.

I was made aware of this as well when one on my friends was scammed by "Falldorf" in a trade.
I hope all involved can get their knives/money back.

So sad. I don't take knives seriously enough to drop major dime on them and take solace in that I will likely never be part and parcel of such shenanigans in the first place. On a lighter note, we will be heading to Disneyland on VIP passes for Halloween. All expenses covered by a third-party.

I DO NOT TRADE! Period. You make a deal and ship your knife. What recourse do you have if the other party doesn't send his knife? None. At least with PayPal, you can file a complaint and most likely get your money back. GBU should be warning enough. IMHO, of course.

The only exception would someone that I knew very well.

I only trade with people I know, or I request that the other person ships first. I have volunteered to ship first once or twice in cases where it was someone with a really good reputation here.

I am just finishing up a good trade with Tinbanger. His knife should be arriving in his hands Monday.

If you're happy, more power to you. As I said, it's just MHO.

I always write NO TRADES when I post something for sale. People still offer trades. I politely suggest that they sell their knife and buy mine when they have the funds. 100% of the time I never hear from them again. :D
