So I've been eyeing a piece of property that has a small 1 or 2 bedroom house and it's on about 14 or 15 acres!...about a hour outside of Albuquerque, NM which is the states largest city!
And we are close to making a deal on it !

Are you planning to tear down the house and build something else? Otherwise I don't understand how you could be close to a deal when you don't know how many bedrooms it has. Either way . . . Good luck!

I am preaching tomorrow and feel a little nervous. Who has good tips for overcoming nerves?

2 Timothy 1: Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God...

Easter week . . . quite an honor. In one of my many former lives, I did some preaching. Got paid for it, too. :)

I'm guessing you've done this before (?), and have heard the old saw about picturing your audience nekked. Which is ridiculous. I don't know if it's a good tip or not, but what I've always done is imagine I'm talking to just three or four people - preferably friends - that I pick out in the audience and I switch eye contact between them as I speak. Most folks are not nervous just talking to a couple of friends. Just think of it as a conversation . . . one-sided, for sure, but that's all it is. Other tips . . . pause to take breaths. Slow down. Maybe have a glass of water you can sip from if need be. Depending on your particular faith and how they view such things, a joke to start things off can actually relax YOU.

I'm sure you're gonna do great. Good luck!
