Could you please lend him your K18 to tear down the house? It will be much faster 😁
LOL.

I bet if I did and he took a video of it for the YouTubes, Nathan would send me a new one if there was any damages to the blade. 😆

They're tearing down houses and replacing them all the time around here. Tearing down perfectly fine 1800-2500 square foot houses from the 50s, 60s and 70s and replacing them with brand new 5000-6000 square foot McMansions.

I am preaching tomorrow and feel a little nervous. Who has good tips for overcoming nerves?
I hope this doesn't sound pithy, but it may help to just accept that you feel nervous. There is nothing wrong with feeling nerves, just like there is nothing wrong with feeling cold on a winter day.

In my youth, I would have spent a considerable amount of time and energy worrying about being nervous or trying to change how I felt, instead of focusing on the task at hand.

Young me: "You can't feel nervous, you have a job to do! I hate this feeling, plus I may make a mistake, then everything will be worse..." etc.

Now is more like: "Nerves. Interesting. Well, let's go over my speaking points again, and remember why I am doing this."

I have found that things tend to work out if I focus my effort on where it may make a difference. Easier said then done, but I find it a worthwhile endeavor, and I have gotten better with practice.

So I've been eyeing a piece of property that has a small 1 or 2 bedroom house and it's on about 14 or 15 acres!...about a hour outside of Albuquerque, NM which is the states largest city!
And we are close to making a deal on it !

Hi Frank, I live in Albuquerque, NM. Where is this property from Albuquerque? If I can be of any assistance, hit me up. - Bob

Easter week . . . quite an honor. In one of my many former lives, I did some preaching. Got paid for it, too. :)

I'm guessing you've done this before (?), and have heard the old saw about picturing your audience nekked. Which is ridiculous. I don't know if it's a good tip or not, but what I've always done is imagine I'm talking to just three or four people - preferably friends - that I pick out in the audience and I switch eye contact between them as I speak. Most folks are not nervous just talking to a couple of friends. Just think of it as a conversation . . . one-sided, for sure, but that's all it is. Other tips . . . pause to take breaths. Slow down. Maybe have a glass of water you can sip from if need be. Depending on your particular faith and how they view such things, a joke to start things off can actually relax YOU.

I'm sure you're gonna do great. Good luck!

Pick a couple of people and talk only to them. Nobody else will notice.

This is all sound advice, I will be giving this a go tonight. Thank you all very much.

This is my 2nd time preaching at church. It is Thursday here in Aus, so a service called "dark church" the evening leading to Good Friday. I am a youth minister and done plenty of youth talks but far less to our adult members.

Thanks for the thoughts and tips!

Hey Christian, when you've got some distance between you, folks can't really tell whether you're making direct eye contact or if you're looking at the top of their heads. I find it much less distracting for ME to mostly avoid the direct eye contact because then I get to thinking, huh, looks like ole Bob is paying attention......we sure had a great time chasing that buck around the hill last week.....wonder if he wants to go again this week..........er, um, please turn to Proverbs 12:27.......

Anyone have much experience with elmax?

A friend of mine gifted me his custom elmax bowie and I use it lots in the kitchen.
I don't misuse it but I also certainly don't look after it like other knives. And i've noticed, after I wash it and leave it to dry with water on it (tap water), it starts to have surface rust. Left me very confused, i thought elmax would do much better.

That said, for whatever reason, steel rusts so easy here. I dont think i've had any steel not rust so far for me. And I do not live anywhere near a beach, nor do I misuse knives.

Anyway, i hate rust. I really hate it. And I know most people say not to worry and it wont cause issues, but i just hate it. This is part of my enthusiam for magnacut. From what i've heard...surely that will finally solve my problem 😅
