I bought my DEK1 for emergency backup self-defense and normal cutting chores.

Yup. The names actually pretty much nail it. Field Knife for the field, Defensive Everyday Knife for a general use carry knife with defensive use potential.

Exactly. Except for the MC. Therefore since a synonym to capable and efficient is masterly, I dub it the Master Chopper. Description fixed, stays the MC, and the next run sells like hotcakes.

So it’s not designed to protect yourself against con artists known as mediums?
Ohhhh it’s ruined my illusion of it being the anti occult weapon of choice.
( for the record I do not condone chopping up mediums)

000Robert B bluemax_1 , a camping and outdoors knife for me fills many roles, both the DEK1 (designed as a utility knife with a few defensive knife attributes) and FK2 can handle everything I use a knife in those capacities for just fine. I don’t “bushcraft”, baton logs, or fight off bears, just like to carry a belt knife for general needs. Honestly my pocket knife gets more use lol, many deer and other animals have been field dressed with one also, a 4”+ bladed knife isn’t necessary.

My preference for the FK2 wasn’t because I was trying to force the DEK1 into a role it wasn’t designed for, I just simply appreciate the way it holds in my hand more.

I’m not overly pumped for the DEK2 although I do have one on preorder, it’s the DEK3 I can’t wait to see!
