Look at an electoral map and ask yourself how many of those electoral votes are in states with lots of butt-rich corn farmers feasting on all that ethanol cash. Or just realize that Iowa holds the first Presidential caucuses every time out, and then imagine a candidate going there to campaign and not pledging to keep the ethanol mandates.

That is not politics - certainly not partisan politics. It is just plain ol' American civics.
I'm sorry. Please stay on topic...

Electrical map. Electrical votes.

🙃

I agree. And trucks in particular have plenty of room for batteries.

And there is a current green alternative, and it‘s not wind mills. It‘s Gen 4 nuclear reactors…. People like to forget that there are plenty being used in ships and submarines already. A few more on land wouldn’t increase the already low risk dramatically.

IMHO.
Yep.

In general, nuclear has shown to be a potent option with a good safety record, barring the ineptitude of foreign standards, and acts of nature. Avoid placing them in hurricane, tornado and earthquake territory. We have the distribution infrastructure and safety oriented operating standards.

I should get a good bottle of champagne so that when I finally sharpen the last K18 and I will never have to sharpen another K18 I can drink a bottle of good champagne to celebrate

Back in the day in 1992, I bought a bottle of Dom Pérignon from Price Club which has subsequently become Costco (Costco bought them). I kept it for some very special occasion to share with the wife but that wife went by the wayside. Then I kept it to drink it when the D was going to be finalized but guess what? The second D came and went by many years later on and the f*cking Dom is still here in the original box and everything! I don't drink alcohol anymore, not even one drop of beer so unless this Dom is now teetering on become some kind of undrinkable vintage like p*ss infused vinegar, you let me know! Having disclosed the story behind it, I think that it is a very jinxed Dom . Who knows, it may even be worth a good few quids these days?

ETA: oh farg! I looked at it again and it is year stamped 1990! Must've bought it in 1990/91... Time flies...

Did y'all know there are actually UFOs? They've come right out and said "yah, it's crazy, we have no idea WTF is going on here but that stuff is bananas". Why isn't this on the news more? Why are we talking about Jonny Depp and Amber Turd when there are actual UFOs. Isn't that important?

Timmy called this one. Can we give him that?

They will never pump the last barrel of oil out of the ground, it'll just get too expensive to burn it. It's a useful raw material, it does seem silly just to burn it as a fuel. Settlers cut all their trees down to burn the wood for heat and then didn't have any building materials. Same thing. We're always going to want petroleum for plastics and petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and paint etc. But I do see the days of putting it in your fuel tank and burning it coming to an end. Which will be good. Because there's a bunch of people in this world that don't particularly love America and a lot of them are the ones who control the petroleum. Screw them. I'd like to see them try and eat sand.

It always struck me odd the coal rolling American Patriots driving around in their gas guzzlers talking about how red-blooded Americans won't drive electric cars, it's somehow un American. To me, telling OPEC to go screw themselves doesn't seem particularly unpatriotic to me.
This video is quite long, but interesting if a you’re a motorhead or just looking for a different option other than boring EV nonsense.

Arrington Performance is building a hydrogen direct-injected 1949 Chevy pickup with a supercharged 6.2L LS motor that is zero emissions making close to 500hp with a range of 200-250 miles per fill up.
Here’s a short somewhat annoying video.

Here’s a long, more in depth video
