It does seem weird that "slow up" and "slow down" mean the same thing.

Can we say "speed up" and "speed down" to mean the same thing?

I'm going to make an effort to get "speed down" into the local vernacular.

What about "turn up the ac"? I say "set it colder" for disambiguation.

Oh, OK I'm glad you mentioned this. Now I can just tell myself I couldn't get one because they were sold out. Somehow that's easier to swallow than saying "I guess diapers and baby food take priority right now."

That is unless you're willing to trade for a first born...😉
So you'll take the firstborn if I'll give you a sword? Some days I'd take you up on that. 🤣

Around here we call "traffic lights": "stop lights". And "water heaters": "hot water heaters" and "sensationalist reality TV about pathological liars" : "politics".

I guess it's kind of funny how words take on different meanings that sometimes don't make any sense.

Since I got the double edged version at Blade, I'm going to throw the first edition Carothers fighter up for adoption. Delta 3V. Black micarta, I believe. Sheath has Proto written on the back and small dirt mark/stain on the front, but fits the knife like a tight glove. View attachment 18400532View attachment 1840058View attachment 1840060 Comes with kydex and the prototype Chad Pirtle leather sheath. Knife is basically new, but I probably swiped the edge on a ceramic stone a couple times. 5 zero zero shipped to any U.S. address. Price includes Paypal fees.
Sheath says UF2 proto? Interesting..

Why do people say “right side up” instead of “upside right”
Or "upside up"? We say "upside down" after all🤷‍♂️
Well...

"Upside up" would be redundant, but "right side up" makes perfect sense, when you consider that people who go rock crawling in their 4wd can take one look at a Jeep and go, "Ah. I see your problem. Wrong side up" 🤣

I've actually heard "speed down" before.

As for interesting antonyms, here's one from my college days;

A group of us were sitting around chatting, when one of our buddies who was a foreign exchange student, exclaimed, "That guy is a real blur f###!".

We said, "A what?".

He explained, "Blur f###. You know? When someone is really smart, they say, "That guy is really sharp!" Well, this guy is the opposite; a real blur F###!".

"Hmmm... sharp... blur..."
"Ya know, we tend to mean something else when we say someone's 'dull', or 'blunt'. Blur F###, it is!!!"

Usage of the term stuck with our group through college. 😂

I'm pulling for you!

I'm a Kings fan but the Rangers are a close second - will be good to see them come out on top.
Thanks, Dylan. The Kings dashed our hopes the last time we went to the finals. (I guess we'll always have 1994. They can't take that away from me.)

To be honest, I'm not sure that they have what it takes at the moment to get past Tampa Bay. Two seven game series in a row and playing every other day for a month is tough on any team...even a young one like the Rangers.

But, I'm not giving up hope until there's none left to ante up.

They are in the Conference finals, which is absolutely something to be proud of. I didn't even expect the Kings to make the Playoffs, let alone win rather excellently in a few of those games against the Oilers in the first series. They need to find their footing again, they have an odd mix of veterans and fresh faces and as much as I adore Quicky, he has an expiration date that he has been flirting with for awhile now. When he's on, he's a beast - when he's off (more often than not these days), it's catastrophic.
