Why the hell is the hockey season so long? It’s pretty consistent 70-80* right now even here in the Northeast near the Canadian border, haven’t seen a frost since the first week in May. Melt the damn ice by the end of April!

To that end, SwarthyGnome has asked me to proxy for him in this afternoon’s pre-order. He will be dealing with the spotty reception, but also has been booked on a canoe trip this afternoon around 4:30 that will surely end with him bent over a rotten log doing his best Ned Beatty whilst squealing like a pig. So, I’ll be claiming two in this afternoon’s sale for me, and placing a proxy bid for one sword, tagging in Dan while he is being tagged in the woods. This is my PSA to Nathan the Machinist and Jo the Machinist as well as the rest of you CoCKs(Collectors of Carothers Knives) that there is no funny business going on here, just in the Catskills.

I used to do a lot of hiking in the Cornell-Wittenberg-Slide area and Giant Ledge. Similar terrain hereabouts. The Moose river up in the Adirondacks was a favorite for canoeing back in the day.
