^ I suspect that has to do with how the threads get shuffled up/down based on comments. For instance, several times when I looked, the forth option poll was the top thread because folks make comments in the order of 1 - 4. Had the polls been stickied and then closed to comments, we may have witnessed more congruencies.

Don't be discouraged. My only experience with D2 was a simple skinner from Knives of Alaska. I was extremely impressed by its performance: easy to sharpen and held a keen edge for a long time. Someday I hope to count the number of circles a skinner in your D2 could run around all others.

Matty's post gives you an indication.

Folks simply voted as Nate directed, i.e. "which one of these would be your 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice" etc.

That and as Matty pointed out, it also appears to have been affected by which thread was seen more, as it got bumped up with an actual post vs just a vote.
 
I wonder how the polls would all be impacted if they were opened one at a time? Or even had a winning pattern removed once the vote was over. I keep flipping my votes to try and move things I like into the top 4 spots. Leaves me with multiple votes for the same pattern across several polls 😂

Lol. Since Nate allowed the option to change your vote, it actually makes sense to do it that way.

The Shiv currently has a significant lead in the '1st choice' poll, just as the MLC has a significant lead in the '4th choice' poll, while the BD is building a decent lead in the '3rd choice' poll.

The '2nd choice' poll OTOH, has several contenders all within a few votes of each other (I think the EDC 1.2 has a 1 vote lead at the moment?).

It would be interesting to see what came out on top if the folks with Shiv and MLC votes in the '2nd choice' poll simply shifted their 'Shiv' vote to the 1st poll, and 'MLC' vote to the 4th poll, and selected something other than those two in the '2nd choice' poll.
