Haven't had the chance to try one of yours, hence why it was one of my picks for 2nd.

The photos of your skinner, also look like I'd find it preferable for a kitchen utility knife (over the Kephart) for general use in all the other months of the year.

I hate D2 steel - it's overrated and rusts like crazy!!! Take my Ontario...

I've had no problems with my older Rat 1 or Maserin slip joint in D2. Good news, plenty of alternatives out there.

Yeah...I passed that thread on by. I've been a fan of D2 since Kit Carson sold me on it back in the 90's.

(But then Kit liked 440C as well. So, obviously, Kit didn't know shit from Shinola. 🤣 )

He also made me my very first custom knife. (420V...now known as S90V. Forgive the shiny late 90's image.)

My wife made my wedding ring out of 440C. I wish I could find it...

Now for full disclosure ... I carry an EDC almost daily ... and if I didn't already have a couple of the HDFK it might be at the top of my list. I'd be hard pressed to pick between the EDC and HDFK if it was just a "your favorite CPK" poll.

But I missed out on the skinners and tator knives so I had to put them up top. And still put the EDC and HDFK in my top four because they are that good IMO.

I have an EDC and have been carrying it more frequently lately. My only complaint with it is that I wish it had a little less belly on the blade - otherwise it is wonderful.

If an HDFK gets made again and they conduct a pre-order, I will have to get in on it, despite having one already. The opportunity to potentially get some custom options would be too good to pass up.
