Yes. My 2002 F250 7.3L Diesel 4x4 Lariat Supercab Longbed.

It also has cost me very little to own & maintain. Bought it about 12 yrs ago for $10k when you couldn't give big trucks away and that is worth about $15k now.

Put about $5k in "extras" into it for things like a rear Superhitch, front hitch, tonneau cover, airbags and a brake controller & camper tie downs because the original plan was to use it to tow a travel trailer or haul a cabover camper.

Keep it still because it costs so little to maintain. Other than annual oil changes of about $175/yr and the $2k it just spent on a new set of tires (only the 2nd set in 12 yrs), the only things I had to spend to actually fix it were for some new ball joints, a starter, a steering box and some bits and pieces which cost about $2k more altogether, which isn't bad considering it has over 200k on the motor and that it's 20 yrs old.

Nathan is a bit unkind to the brand ;) personally speaking. I’m partial to the Dodge Cummins but both Ford Power Stroke and GM Duramax have their own advocates. The trick is mostly in the maintenance with these big heavy duty trucks which actually get used instead of being mall crawlers. As you know one of the biggest downsides to big HD trucks here in Cali is the hefty annual weight fee on top of the VLF and registration fees. Ball joints are just a fact of life with those bigger full size trucks at some point, sooner or later, specially if lifted with bigger tires.

I recently finally made a move from full size to mid size (Toyota guy here) but I’ll be the first to admit that if I was living in more rural areas commuting and hauling on open wide freeways and byways, I’d switch back to full size as they are just more comfortable and more sure footed:

Kids these days. Seriously. Kids these days.
Oh I have stories about my own....

So so so many dumb stories lol

My oldest (who is now a junior in college) once had the rear view mirror fall off of the windshield of his car..... he blank face look at me and said "how will I see behind me"

I was in shock while looking at him .... then his side mirrors... back at him..... then his side mirrors...... I couldn't even verbally respond

In college I was driving to my friend's mom's house and got a flat destroyed my tire. I put on the donut and drive about 75 miles more to get there. My friend's dad worked at a tire shop, and he told me to meet him at a local fast food joint for help changing the tire. I showed up, pulled out a literal tire, and proceeded to change it the tire manually with tire levers within about 5 minutes. Up until that point I'd only seen it done with machines.
Using those takes a real technique. My friends Dad back in the mid late 80’s drove tractor trailers and owned a shop. There was a mechanic there who did this on truck tires !!! He showed us how and we did it for awhile, but using a machine is for me lol. Plus those truck tires are dangerous , so his Dad stopped us kids from doing it.

Needs to be a handle scale pic thread with lots of comparisons. Can ebonite be buffed to look more rich? Anyone have an opinion on buffed vs non buffed ecam? Thx guys

Scotoma 🤦🏼‍♂️

Thank you Sir, very helpful.

Gas prices in CA are WAY UP again. :(

This is what my local station was charging for gas yesterday 10/08/2022:

Thought that was A LOT until I saw this photo in "SF Gate" this morning which supposedly was taken in Sacramento on 09/30/2022:

The only difference this time around is that the price of diesel has dropped to equal to or below the cost of regular. It was more than premium the last time around.

Just glad that I installed a 67 gallon fuel tank in my truck, topped off my tank when prices were lower and don't drive the truck much. Based on current pricing, the diesel in my tank is worth about $400!

I've been going back and forth this weekend but I'm having some difficulty with trying to finalize my Shiv pre-order options.

Adding an additional 3rd knife would help sort things out but that also increases my overall expense outlay? So, I'm not sure that I would want to go "all-in" with three??

I'm considering a set of Ebonite scales as a handle choice for one of the knife options but I don't recall if Ebonite comes with any sort of liners? (Maybe red?) Like how the grey/gray Tero-Tuff scales have black liners?
