Sounds like it's cheaper to put some nice blankets in your car.

Nice theory, I agree. That'a what I tried last winter. Turns out that sucks. Turns out when it's 12 degrees outside, then it's also pretty close to 12 degrees in your car sitting outside all night, and those blankets are also about 12 degrees. And you're tryiing to warm yourself with 12 degrees blankets. So it turns out that every time you go out to your car, you need to bring warm blankets (at least warmer than 12 degrees) with you. Uh, no. Not anymore.
