Random Thought Thread

I used to have a ton of problems with UPS and never a problem with FedEx. This is the third package in a row now with FedEx. I wonder if all the UPS workers that were messing up my deliveries decided to go to FedEx. Now I'm nervous that I'm going to get a delivery that's all smashed and damaged.

Shipment exception
Barcode label unreadable and replaced

Ok.....

After having my friends smoked turkey last week

I think we are going to smoke a turkey..... then deep fry it next year...

My God the thought makes my mouth water

I can not wait!

(I'm just injecting and roasting ours this year)

I have it at least 3 x a week on my toast 💁🏽‍♂️🍞
Aussie cousin came over on vacation and brought his buddy. His buddy got sick and all he wanted was Vegemite on toast.

They sell Vegemite here. Found Marmite too. To me, Vegemite, Marmite and Bovril all taste very similar (it's all thick, black, super salty goop, that can be eaten on toast or crackers 😅), but between the 3, Bovril brings fond memories. UK aunt introduced us to hot Bovril 'tea', with a good dash of pepper. On a cold, wet rainy day (is it ever not wet and rainy in the UK? 😂).

But after Mad Cow, can't even get real Bovril anymore. 😪

I can't say i've heard of those other two! But if it is more-or-less the same as vegemite, I think i'd rather cut off my own leg than try it as a tea 😳
🤣

I have family that would send me weird stuff from China to eat and I always enjoyed it.

My attorney gave me some canned horse meat in whale sauce last year. I thought it was great.

Mark brought in some lava pumpkins (high potency bright red habanero) and now I'm addicted to them

It's a wonder I'm not more fat than I am.

I've never found anything weird on the grocery store shelf that I didn't like with the exception of hot pickled pig's feet. I gave them an honest try, but they're just not very good.

When I was in LE, my best Buddy was an Infantry Marine who'd spent most of his time in the Service on ships travelling all over the World. He was a big gorilla and coulda' been a Poster Boy for the Marine Corps. Anyhoo, some of the sh!t I watched that guy pile into his cake hole...and actually consume and keep down...used to make me dry heave. That guy could eat haggis with a side of Vegemite and happily lick his fingers instead of using a napkin. Disgusting.

My paternal Grandfather was a Butcher by trade but had to quit when he got Polio. Again, another man who could consume ANYTHING. He had a stomach like an iron trap. He loved EVERYTHING, but had a particular infatuation with processed stuff...hot dogs, salami, cured meats, corn dogs, that kinda' stuff. He lived well over 80. My diet is atrocious, but if I tried his diet, I'd probably die of colon cancer in about a month.

I eat almost everything, with a few exceptions: no mammals outside what’s typical in Europe, and I don’t like snails.

Interesting that some foods considered normal in Western Europe, are considered weird in the US (say, by my wife who’s from Orange County). For example, a good horse fillet, pickled fish, or that cow tongue with a cream sauce that I cook. A favorite of my daughters ... not my wife though :)

That chicken sashimi that I had in Japan once was yummi.

The pork brain below wasn’t half bad either.
