Took a few days off from here and am starting to get caught up.

The "Random Thought Thread" sure delivers on the random...

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. 'Twas a somber one for us due to this year's events but it was quiet and restful. I eschewed the traditional culinary fare and instead we made a potato chowder, a beef stew, and fresh baked bread and pies. It was pretty great.

Brand new boiler/ board, cannot replace the relay. I've been on warranty call "hold" for 1/2 hour so far.

I have come across a few relays that could not be repaired but I haven't come across many that could not be replaced. The exception being a fully potted board. Those aren't worth messing with.

I just spent the better part of the afternoon looking for a malfunctioning limit switch on a machine tool that, it turns out, it doesn't have a limit switch. When you home the machine. It's just majic. Ugh

True, they make you sit on hold waiting for authorization for a warranty replacement part for hours. The new board costs me $300. I get $150 p/h. At the 2 hour mark it's a wash. ☹
