Random Thought Thread

Supposed to be 6* here Friday night.
How often does it ever get that cold down there? As mentioned, single digits are nothing special for a MI Winter (and that's all that's forecast here; dipping into single digits). But for the ill prepared, a power outage in the midst of single digits could be bad.

I grabbed another tank of propane in case my elderly neighbor loses power. Got them a Big Buddy heater of their own, several Christmases ago after I loaned them one of mine when the power went out for a few days early in the Winter. Handy things for emergency/portable heat. Got an extra hose to run the BB off the tank too. Should last about a week. Longest outage in this AO in the oast decade plus was 5 days.

It's pretty unusual. A cold winter might be 9* for a day or two. Low 10's to teens every now and again. 6* is an anomaly most years.

I'm at 2500'. So, above town a few miles away by about 700 feet or so, but a good bit below the highest elevations in the area.
