What're CPK's water and other utility bills like?
I think the return on investment is something like 15 yearsSheepish and silly question I'm sure, but does it pay in the long run to instal solar panels in States like NC?

^^^That....and the recent 30% tariff imposed on solar imports is definitely going to hurt the industry and increase costs/prices across the board. I was considering installing a few panels on our place, but will have to rethink it over the next few years. We just bought it last year, so a 30 year commitment gives me time to think and watch the industry. Not too bad at your age if you're planning on staying there for quite a while, but it would've been much better to have acted earlier on because of all those incentivized programs when solar energy Cos had more leverage. I also missed out and kinda kicking myself![]()
I used to be stationed in AZ and to really benefit from the solar you have to invest in the battery system to store the excess power.
They are starting to get really high tech and make panels that are actually build into the roofing.I have talked to a few people who had solar systems installed here. Other than having those ugly panels on their roofs, there doesn't seem to be much of a return on their investment. I would guess that a lot depends on the quality of the panels and the rest of the system.
