I don't purchase knives with the intent of either flipping them for a quick profit or with the specific idea of trying to gain some kind of long term collector appreciation.

I tend to buy whatever I like (as long as it is priced within reason and I've got the discretionary income available to do so).

However, once you get beyond acquiring a dozen or so knives and you already have multiple users available for rotation and perhaps even knives designated for a specific usage, then it doesn't make much sense for every additional new knife to also become a user?

CPK has a lot of pattern variants... 3 EDC, 3 FK, 3 HFK, 2UF, 2 DEF, 3 DEK, 2 Shivs, 5 Choppers, Kephart, Skinner, Kitchen Knife, Comp Cutter, and 2 Short Swords.

I don't own all the CPK pattern variations but I have a fair bunch out of the ones listed above. Take the choppers for example... I already have a LC and a BC user... So do I really need to do the same with the MC, HDMC and the Behemother?

I enjoy putting my CPK's to work and I'll likely have even more that will become users, but some will remain in minty/like new condition

I was meaning I only buy knives I use. For example, I have the SDFK and I'm awaiting delivery of the SSDFK. Whichever I prefer, I'll keep. My brother will get the other since he's not on this forum.

I buy knives to perform tasks. I keep the knife I like best for completing said task. I'm not a collector, but I see the value in having a backup, or even a duplicate if you like the knife that much. I could see myself trying to grab another SSDFK to hold onto just in case something happens to the one I use.

Hopefully I didnt do a dumb. Never cared enough for the thought to cross my mind but am wondering if 350 degree kydex plus weight will have any ill effect on this thin skinner? Should of asked before hand Decided to post here instead bother Nate direct on his possible “day off”…Boss?

I thought around 350f is getting close to annealing delta 3v, Can't you could do kydex at 215f?

500 degree F is the no no temp for D3V

Its actually D2. At 215 id think my hot breath would heat it faster but idk…scurring me

Serious practical question, Eric, and you know I love your sheaths .... by the time you put that contraption up, hasn't the Kydex cooled down ?

Thanks man. Kydex straight out of oven and onto the blade then immediately mashed and stays mashed til cooled.

Been a while since Ive done this and it shows. Never was one for a ruler. That and burned the first two holes up having the drill on reverse

Don't panic, D2 has two tempering zones, one around 450F and the other around 700F. Annealing is way up at 1600F.
350F won't have done any harm.
