While supply and demand is a crucial factor, there'd be no demand whether in the initial phases or the aftermarket if the quality and value were not inherent. We can debate these issues till the cows come home but at the end of the day Nathan is leaving some money on the table at his expense but to his buyers' benefits. #unclemattyhathspoken
Mat, I TOTALLY AGREE with this assessment- Nathan is leaving some money on the table at his expense but to his buyers' benefits. #unclemattyhathspoken[/QUOTE]

I posted this in the wrong place.

RE: The FK for $465 and another for $492.

$465? Would that be considered a fair price? :D

Just poking a little fun here. Obviously, it's a fair price to the buyer. ;)

Edit: Just saw the post above mine. Maybe FKs should be on DJIA.:p

Again, I am not being critical. IMHO, any object is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

I want to be transparent about my higher price; it is not to flip or make money or any of that. I had to pay extra for shipping to snow land on top of the $465 and just wanted to recoup that with my previous purchase (unused black handled version) as I could not find the scales I wanted on their own. The prices are high but they are what they are; and if it doesn’t go at that price then that is just fine with me. I have a lot of faith in the D3V and grinds CPK does and wouldn’t mind keeping it as a backup or to give to my kid when he is of age. Have been through a ton of knives the last couple years and finally settled on CPKs as have most of what I am looking for.
Thanks for your time,
Andy

As far as I'm concerned, you don't have to explain anything. It's your knife and you can sell it for anything you wish. My post was intended to be sort of a jest. Some folks took exception to it.

I hereby bring a motion that Nathan at some point in the near future creates an exclusive pattern in honor of UffDa to be named CPK-Spatula made out of that schmoo (shmoo?) residue :p

I agree with this; I can’t believe the prices Nathan offers his blades at. Had been through Busse, Spartan, and other high priced and quality blades before settling on CPKs. Late to the game so have to pay the secondary market costs but the quality, build, grinds, steel and ergos are what I have been hunting for. I carry a fixed blade everyday for work and living rural; and enjoy using these more than any other I have tried so am willing to pay for it.

I'll take 3. I'll keep one and sell the rest. Will he charge extra for aged shmoo?

Nathan's prices are awesome. Extremely fair. just look at the MC being released. 375 bucks and his 3v is the toughest steel I have found. even better than old school infi. I'm one of the haters of secondary market prices mainly because I can't afford them lol. I want a field knife bad but no matter how much I wish I could I can't pay more than $375 AND I MISSED one today for that price lol.

it's people's personal property. They can ask what they want for their stuff and if folks pay it then that is market value. No need to explain anything imo.
