What's the back story?

Silver lining... at least you are not looking at the tap snapped off in the hole of some exotic alloy, trying to figure out how to extract it. (to soon?)

I was going to say the same thing. I don't know how many broken taps I have removed from Remington 870 receivers, but it has been many.

The back story is a G0 should have been a G1...

I wish that were a tap, that's a $90 carbide thread mill. For whatever reason the post from my CAM added a short rapid move once the cutter was in position (down in the hole), so rather than feed it out into the cut it was in rapid as it engaged the material, going back into feed mode only once already in the cut (cutting with air because the cutter gone).

That's a relatively expensive cutter. I hate breaking something like that with zero miles on it.

I have to say I don't have the best track record with full form thread mills.

7000 posts in 10 years? They are some guys who do that in a year. Then, there's Esav!

:D

Somebody on a Facebook knife group posted this video, it's in regards to the issues we are currently having with CBSA and the importation of folding knives. I was surprised that the news actually covered this and even more surprised at their unusual lack of bias in their reporting.

Your link doesn’t work but that one should.

Jonny, Ever tried Chicken Livers for Catfish?

Sorry I missed this! Yes, we use livers sometimes. Livers catch Channels and Blues real well, since they like rotten stuff, but we use live Bream for Flatheads as they prefer live bait. Livers suck at staying on the hook, so we freeze them, they stay on the hook a little better.

Johnny, take an old coffee can, or whatever container you don't need, and do layers of salt then livers. Repeat till it's full. Stick the can in your fridge for a week or so, then pull them out for use. They'll be tough and won't fall off the hook.

But honestly, fresh cut bait for channels and blues is best. Even live bait for channels if you're only looking for trophy size fish. Live bait for flatties is a must. I stopped using shad a long time ago. Just too hard to keep alive. I started catching bullhead cats and using them for bait. They live forever and work just as good, if not better sometimes.

For sure, I'm gonna miss this place (sorta) when i move but I did promise to myself to turn up my "retirement" up by a notch or two, sell the house after I turn 55 this July and then grab my accumulated equity in this pace and move onto greener pastures. As luck would have it, literal greener pastures come with humidity and rain which I can not stand. Got a few places in mind but I'm not sharing with Y'all hooligans yet :P

But I do love this place :( I mean WTF is there not to luv other than being the Mighty RepubliK of Kalifornia :D Anyway, enjoy the views from my hike with my GSD a couple of days ago when it was very nice, crisp and crystal clear for miles. I have seen deers and coyotes and know that there are cougars but luckily have not come across those kitties in all my years going on its 11th in here:
