Credit card is safe for these situations, report transaction as fraud, do a chargeback. Just like I did when Miracle was in here scamming people for his go fund me, and got me. But he had already gotten my email and phone number, which got bombarded with hack attempts on the evening he found out I reported his duplicate account on here and got banned again. But he's still around...
 
This is fucked. Other than the banks and credit card companies I don't know what to suggest. I doubt that the local or federal authorities would look into it unless it was part of a larger case.

Nah, this would be a law enforcement issue. Normies like us can't sue a bank account, but the government can and often does. You'll see a caption that says something like United States of America v. $35,000 in US currency. But amounts of around $1000 are in the area of not being worth the cost of pursuing legally. And I'm afraid there's no way to reverse Zelle payments, it's like sending a wire. You can use a credit card to pay Friends and family though, for a surcharge, which would then be reversible via the credit card. That's probably the credited move for people who don't want to take PayPal goods.

It's not even an excuse. Anyone that buys a Carothers or Busse knife can show what they paid for the knife to the IRS. There's no reason for any buyer to do F&F on large $ purchases.

Inconvenient for the seller, but the buyer has no recourse when things go south. That seems to be happening more and more.

Hell, for something big ticket I would want some more pictures with my name written on paper.
